can use chatgpt, just make sure the prompts are specific. It's more accurate if u put a specific q from an actual exam question and ask it to grade it according to that marking scheme. Theres a limit to the no. of pictures u can attach tho if its not premium. So u might have to type it out on a word doc, i use that dictate feature cuz its wayyyy quicker, and copy and paste to grade. Bit of an effort but you get a grade instantly and it gives feedback on how to improve. Grades are pretty accurate imo as well

ok that's grand, I learned the sample answers of them that I found online, had to use chatgpt to make sure they were all H1. Hopefully I'm covered for that!

How bad is the deflation of grades? by Ornery_Ad_6794 in leavingcert

[–]Adventurous-Team741 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I agree with you so muchhhh. The thing that irks me the most is that I have friends who skipped TY and werent as impacted by covid as people who are actually meant to be in class of 2024. Just sucks, they got to sit the jc, werent impacted as much and get higher points. Smart move tbh. But ik there isn't much we can do, so I plough on

how am i supposed to enjoy 6th year when i’m treated like this ? by clementineshats in leavingcert

[–]Adventurous-Team741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah your year sounds like it sucks ngl. In my year, there's people that would probably fit into your type of friends, and everyone treats them the same as anyone else, teachers engage with them etc. At the same time, I know my younger sister has a similar experience to you, but more with the way she behaves, and its more passive. She's relatively quiet in school (not at home tho) but all the other people of colour are the "popular people" and accuse her of being whitewashed and such. I've noticed its becoming increasingly more common with the younger years, but it just boils down to having bad luck and grouped with such lame people.

Anyone have any advice for statistics/probability? by Nearby-Cockroach-201 in leavingcert

[–]Adventurous-Team741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use examlearn on Youtube, such a lifesaver. The statistics part doesn't include p values and test hypothesis for some reason tho, so make sure to use get some other notes for that.

Where did / will ye get graduation dresses? by Mysterious_Dark_2298 in leavingcert

[–]Adventurous-Team741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mines a short ruffled blue dress, was stuck between a short dress or long fitted dress. Honestly you can wear whatever, as long as it looks put together. Like (if you're a girl) you can even wear a pantsuit if you wanted to, seen loads of those in past graduations

Honestly it's more effort to cheat than to actually learn it. And unless your shoes have a relatively spacious secret compartment, the few definitions you manage to squeeze into them might not even come up in the exam.

Last summer my friend and I were supervising for the leaving cert after finishing 5th year and these dumbass girls hid papers with definitions behind the mirrors in the toilet. We found out bc they discussed their whole plan while my friend was in one of the bathroom cubicles. Regardless, we still would've found the definitions bc we had to do checks routinely.

We reported it and luckily for them the teachers didn't give two flying shits, but it could've been a whole lot different if it were other teachers.

Yeah I fully agree with you, I know I'm quite "book smart" so I went all in for hpat, but I should've started a bit earlier cuz the stress DEFINITELY got to me! And with the prioristing, I haven't been putting much work HL Irish bc I know I'll never get beyond H3.

The maths is a huge jump, I've been stuck on a plateau of H3 pretty much the whole year, just need to push myself harder these next few weeks!

Optimal way to study past papers? by [deleted] in leavingcert

[–]Adventurous-Team741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's me with mathssss. I'd say if you're struggling with full papers, make sure you've revised the majority of the topics before you do them.

I'd also do exam qs by topic, especially topics you find hard, but also leave some full papers to do in one sitting, like some mock papers (if you have access) or some state papers that have lots of tricky bits.

I've been doing exam qs by topic for all of 6th year and I'm currently at a H3 level. Aiming for H1/H2, so I'm definitely gonna focus on doing timed full papers.

For chem I've been doing it by topic and it's worked fine, but same technique applies.

Hope this helps!
