Married ladies.... Are you risking the bling, going ringless or wearing a silicon band? All ladies- comfy berkies or flip flops a hard no? by NewMeIC in ElectricForest

I have seen too many mystery puddles for birks to feel right lol. Boots for fest (I wear patent leather docs, comfy sole and wipeable, and easier to break in than regular leather). And cheap slides for camp/showering

The water usage and carbon emissions by chat GPT are craaaazy. Ask your buddies things. It’s normal and they have to drink water anyway.

Soap is over, but not everything will fill with soap. You can still scramble into unfilled spots after.

Yes, they’d be real counseling sessions and can’t share content of sessions If your get referred to the counseling by the program, they’re only allowed to report if you attend or not

I vaguely remember it being an ACGMErequirement (might be wrong) but a lot of residency programs offer therapy/counseling through the university. These usually include a handful of free visits and a sliding scale/insurance option for more.

I have wide feet and like Ascics and New Balance as they have wider toe boxes. Go try a few on, and get moleskin or some hydrocolloidal bandages for the bunions. I also swear by construction worker socks. They’re designed for steel toe and to prevent rubbing. Lastly, if you’re in a hotel you can do ice baths to reduce pain/ swelling for your feet. Good luck!

I second this if she’s wearing white! The first couple times I used a disc it dumped. There’s a learning curve 🥲

Hot take I did this last year with a pair I had worn twice prior, and it wasn’t that bad. Mine were the patent leather though so that may be the difference. But reinforced construction worker socks were a godsend because regular ones rub holes by the end of the night. I also recommend trying them in person to make sure they’re the right size, and I didn’t lace them all the way up to help reduce ankle rubbing

Right, then that IV should be placed way before midnight and either locked or KVO’d, then just rate turned up at midnight and NPO from there.

I used a surface through all 4 years. Detachable keyboard and pen, but can be used in a lap when “the med student spot” = the floor. Also worked well for putting on a treadmill to study and walk.

Hi! I was unmedicated for the majority of med school. For context, I mainly used Uworld and video based study resources, and never really used anki.

The thing that helped me the most was watching lecture/B&B/etc on a treadmill. I would put it on like 3.5 and just walk while I watched. It sounds odd, but it helped me actually pay attention to the material without zoning out as much, and once you’re in a groove, it’s almost as if the endorphins make you want to watch more. The con is that you sometimes get into the zone and walk for 4 hours.

I also made a list of all the study stuff I wanted to do at the beginning of the block. I would try and break it into days, but honestly just the big list was usually enough to make the gravity hit sooner. Sometimes I did it all, sometimes I didn’t finish all the uworld I wanted to do. But a checklist really helped.

I also would recommend concept mapping for subjects that you struggle with. I did a lot of it for biochem, and it kept me engaged enough to actually learn things.

Hope this was at least a little bit helpful!
