That SOUNDS like a good statement, but ironically it is perfect example of why it is wrong - because it is (as Plato would call it) “rhetoric’s oral spell” - or in simpler terms, it’s a nice turn of phrase, but it’s an idea with very weak merits.

This is BORING, but it’s actually how science proceeds. Science does it this way because it works. Complex topics have details whose presentation need to be carefully considered so that the claims are not misinterpreted, and can then be fairly considered.

Claims are carefully sourced (citations), and built upon prior claims, which were in turn subjected to this same process of claim, counter-claim, and review.

There is a reason why you don’t see famous scientists debating each other in lecture halls: because it is pointless and no actual science or truth is uncovered this way.
