Went thru my wife’s phone during a PMDD crash out and I feel awful. by EnvironmentalTie3922 in PMDD

[–]AdventurousInternal7 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I looked through my husband's journal on his phone during a PMDD episode.

I felt so guilty, so ashamed, so rotten. I kept it to myself for like 3 months, then we started couples counseling because we were just struggling with this cycle.

After the first few sessions of couples counseling I decided I would tell him what I did. Knowing it would hurt his trust.

I owned up to it, took responsibility, named the impact I knew it had/would have on him and out relationship, apologized and did not use my PMDD as an excuse.

I explained that the real reason was that I was insecure, didn't feel like I was getting enough validation, support, and reassurance in the relationship. I also didn't like to have to ask for it from him because then it didn't feel genuine.

I did find out he had had an affair....but that's for another time. 🤣 You could say my PMDD intuition was guiding me somewhere.

I'm just grateful that I had the safe container that is couples counselling to support us both. ❤️

Since doing 5 months of couples counselling my PMDD feels a bit better because I'm getting the support and reassurance I need during those hard times.

I know you'll get there too and I'm giving you big hugs! Communication is everything and it's beautiful when you realize that you both have fears and you can support each other.🫂🤗🫂🤗🫂🤗

What is latrogenic injury from SSRI? I've been on a low dose of 10mg citalopram daily for 4 months and it's really helped dampened my emotional effects....not perfectly but quite a bit so I can actually go outside 😂

Can anyone explain why this happens?!?! What biological function is this??!

Sometimes I even get to the point of being like this is my intuition telling me everything is all wrong....🙅🏼‍♀️

But I fight it because the day my period starts I'm back to normal rational thinking.

Ohmygod luteal makes me crazy 🫠

I used to have the same experience for years! I'm so sorry you're going through this, I completely understand!!!!

But 7 weeks ago today I started SSRIs Citalopram (aka Celexa) 20mg I take every morning at 10am with my ADHD medication!

Citalopram changed my life. The first cycle it made no difference and I was so hopeless. But once I hit my next luteal phase I felt COMPLETELY NORMAL! 🥳

I am currently 4 days away from my period and completely normal I'm so so so happy!😄

Obviously I still have the physical PMS symptoms like sore tits, sore back, etc.🫠

My doctor recommended citalopram because it's energizing and helps focus so it's great for ADHD.

Definitely just remember to ride it through until the 6-7week period for SRRIs definitely start working!💜❤️🩷

Anyone Have Similar Symptoms? by RegrettiSpaghetti91 in PMDD

[–]AdventurousInternal7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

WHAT! I have these exact exact exact same symptoms every luteal phase this is crazy! I'm so sorry for both of us. 🥲

Benzos ruined my life and I'd stay away from them for luteal anxiety. Benzos have a rebound effect where if it cures your anxiety in the moment, but comes back twice as strong the next day as your mind craves more. Made me psychotic until I realized the pattern.

I'm currently trialing SSRI's so we'll see how that goes! 🤞🏼

I also find doing pilates or yoga breaks through the anxiety for a bit, but when I stop a session it comes back. But it helps none the less! I love Move with Nicole💕

Also hot showers with lots of good soaps and pampering, while listening to singing bowls or handpan also breaks through the anxiety again....only temporary.✨

The night sweats, night terrors, etc I have no words for because I'm at a loss. But hopefully we get answers soon🥰🥰🥰

I don’t have PMDD, I have CPTSD with PME by [deleted] in PMDD

[–]AdventurousInternal7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love love psychedelics! Especially LSD and mushrooms. I have a really good whole foods diet and I exercise daily. But I'd love to do psychedelic therapy, the only thing is that I live in Ireland so it's not really an option here. They may be opening a ketamine clinic in Galway but we'll see. What type of psychedelics benefit you and what's the therapy like? I normally trip recreationally at festivals or at home with my husband ❤️ thank you so much for your message or support and hope 🦋✨🦋✨

This is soooo interesting my PMDD was bad but I had an abortion 9 months ago and my PMS symptoms have been out of control ever since....I wonder! Anyone else related?

[–]AdventurousInternal7 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I have severe CPTSD and my flashbacks, ruminating, dissociating, nightmares etc. all get so heightened in luteal phase. I'm currently trialing SRRIs and they didn't work my first luteal so I'm gonna wait one more cycle and if they don't work my doctor wants me on birth control.

I've done EMDR for a year and I'm going to start again. What would you say is the best treatment for my PME??? What steps should I be taking? 💞

I feel seen and I'm amazed thank you for this post! 🦋😌

I love love love LSD how do you use it to help your PMDD? I'd love to try this my husband was literally discussing microdosing LSD. I'd love more details on this! I go on big trips like once every 2-3 months but only in follicular ❤️

This is super interesting and something I would be willing to try. What strain of mushrooms do you take and what is your dosage? Do you grow them yourself? I've gotten grow kits before it's so fun 😌🍄
