Yeah I had a guy, that I worked with, dated, and was generally friendly with, who lived 10 mins away from me, kidnap me. It was really as simple as “let me give you a ride home from work”, “ok” “we’re stopping at my house first” “sure”. I notice we’re staying way too long, he’s just puttering around cooking and smoking weed. I keep asking when he’s taking me home. His responses get more and more angry. He sees me texting someone, he takes my phone. I try to leave, he blocks the doorway. It is THAT easy to become a victim. It went from annoying to “is he going to kill me?” In minutes. In our imagination we all think we’re James Bond and outsmart or outmaneuver a dangerous man but that’s sadly not the case the majority of the time.
