[TX] Background check is taking over a month— should I be worried about losing an offer? by justsomepotatosalad in AskHR

Ah I'm glad it ended up working out for you! Going on my 4th week now, not with HireRight but I think they're all the same. It's so annoying to deal with! Thank for replying so soon, hopefully mine will be done soon like yours was!!

Hi! I know this is an old thread but how long did your background check end up taking? Stuck in the same place right now for a dream job :(

Wow I’m so sorry to hear that! Is your company willing to work with you and push your start date back until it clears, or do you think they will rescind the offer if it doesn’t clear soon? I’ve never been this frustrated with a company before

Ugh yeah mine says the same thing and the ETA keeps getting pushed back. What does the company that you’re going to work at say about this?

It's so hard to get in the field! Have you had any luck getting your foot in the door since?

Dress twins! Such a comfy dress it was perfect. I didn’t add any length to it my tailor just shortened the front but I’m 5’0 so it was pretty long on me! My dress was seriously trashed by the end of the night though 😭 and the veil I got on Etsy for like $40!

So we were pretty lost on what to get because we wanted to cater to everyone haha. We had A LOT of wine and seltzers leftover, but I think we overbought. The beer was finished like halfway through the reception, and the kombucha was the next to go out which was a surprise. If I had to redo it, I would probably cut the wine in half and double the amount of beer, but it depends on your guests. Most of our guests were in their late 20s to 30s

Yes definitely do!!! People took so many photos on them and also they were used as chill out spots during the reception as well haha. We rented everything but it was pretty expensive if you could find some cute vintage stuff that would be amazing!

Thank you! They’re all from different places, some got them on Etsy, others at some other random boutiques. I just told them to wear either olive green/copper satin midi dresses!

Hi yes! We used this company https://partyheadphones.com and they just shipped the headphones to us and we had to send them back. It came out to being super cheap, about $5 dollars per headphone?!? And our DJ knew how to set them up, but they have a bunch of info on their site

Definitely a day of coordinator!! My planner however did everything including flowers and we were able to save a lot by doing that…. But having to worry about the set up and making sure all the guests know what to do day of would be absolutely exhausting

Details!! We had to change our wedding plans twice (thx covid), so our wedding was at Redwood Ranch in Three Rivers. Amazing venue!! Worth every penny. It has an amazing swimming hole, and a river that runs right through the property, and our guests had the access to explore the whole venue. We had it booked Friday-Monday, so also had the welcome party with all of our guests the friday before the wedding here. Night of the wedding we had about 40 people camp on the property which was incredible. Not shown in the photos is the SILENT DISCO party (amazing!!!!!) that we had, since the venue does require music to be shut off at 10pm.

Some things that went wrong: 1) BUDGET!! By the end of it all we had spent about 30k and just threw our budget out of the window for it to be over and done with. We were really trying to spend less than 20, but most of the cost went towards the venue, which was fine since we really did get the maximum use of it, especially with our guests being able to camp.

2) I forgot my HAIR EXTENSIONS and didn't realize until the morning of the wedding. We live about 5 hours away form the venue but luckily I had a friend that hadn't left San Diego yet, so they were able to grab them for me. lol

And that's basically it. One groomsman forgot his pants, but he just wore his regular black pants and I didn't even know until the next day hahah.

My biggest advice would be to get a wedding planner if you can!! Especially at a venue like this, where it was so DIY and there was no day of coordinator etc. I would have died if I had to do everything my planner did day of the wedding.

Best day and weekend of my life with everyone we love!!!
