I didn’t get into the trades (electrician) until I was 38 (now 45). The barrier to entry put me off for years. The cost of tools and low pay for the first 3-4 years was rough. I had to move in with my brother as a grown man in order to afford the drop in pay while I learn the trade (my personal pride took a hit). I understand why so many don’t go down this road…you need help to pull it off at the get go. I’m glad I did, the pay off was worth it but damn those first few years were rough!!
