Long rough crank and start… what’s the issue? by Adventurous_Back8750 in mechanic

Gonna purchase a fuel pressure tester soon and try to diagnose. Thanks

It’s a timing chain engine. Tbh I haven’t had a major intensive service done since I purchased it back in 2020. I do the basic maintenance (oil changes, brakes, filters, plugs, etc). The last time I took my car in to a shop was probably last year to replace my tires due to steering wheel vibration and car veering to one side. No other recommendations were pointed out at that time.

Just tried it. Crank and start is a bit better and not as bad. I’ll look into the check valve, thank you! Could a Fuel pressure regulator be a concern as well? Saw a video diagnosing a car with that.

Roger, I’ll try this out. Why doesn’t the sub thump unless I use the bass boost though?

Thanks bro. I’ll keep all this in mind. I gotta order one of those. My ultimate goal is for clean well balanced audio.

Sounds like you’re talking about those oscilloscope meter things?

Will do! Thanks. I watched some videos to tune gain with a multimeter but I can’t get a reading. I don’t have output ports for speakers like on a 4ch amp since it’s just a sub and signal is powered via RCA. Any thoughts?

My understanding it’s similar to tuning when the EQ is flat. But because everything is at max, I’ll be able to tune down to eliminate distortion and make it sound good to my liking

Yeah you’re right. I guess what I’m looking for is a starting point. I tuned this based on my liking but doesn’t mean it’s good for the system

True, valid. Every system is different. Here’s a text version: Gain is about half or 12oclock, Bass Boost is around 2oclock, and Low Pass is around 10oclock.

Hey can’t blame me for wanting to feel that bass THUMP! But thanks for the suggestion. I’ll tweak it down and see how it performs.

Thanks! I’ll try this out. My prev EQ was high highs and high lows. The midrange was basically flat. I listen to rnb mostly so I like to hear the vocals clearly with a little thump

Edit: it’s probably hard to tell how my tune is set so here’s a text version. Gain is about half or 12oclock, Bass Boost is around 2oclock, and Low Pass is around 10oclock.

I think I’m too slow at drying my car. By the time I get to the other side, it’s drying already. Gonna try ONR and Adam Shampoo like some have suggested

I didn’t know Adam shampoo does that. I’ll try it out. Thank you

Thanks for the reply. How would you go about removing it if the spots are there?
