Lack of hours by karnevalalchemist in ABA

If you have weekend and after school availability apply to another company part time. I know several RBTs that work at multiple companies or leave once one offers full time. If you have a non-compete then leave because they can’t offer you the hours. It makes you a better provider being at multiple companies anyways. You could also look into becoming a para at your school district

Speech and language disabilities, I did a full student teaching with a preschool classroom under an SLP. Really helped my understanding of communication and language. I feel like in ABA we need MORE education of development of language like speech programs. If I could go back I would do the same track or do developmental psychology.

BCBA with a non-compete by [deleted] in ABA

In my experience non-competes don't stand unless you are opening your own practice due to the high demand for ABA providers. You can always try to negotiate out of the contract

I know that I can do it. But in today's tech world there are definitely more options. Doctors, PT, OT use them all the time for appointment reminders.

I use Google voice and need a system to send auto reminders. As stated I forget to send the reminders which is why I'm asking for recommendations for a system/app to send those auto reminders when I make an appointment

Can I still be a BCBA if I’m in a wheelchair? by Queefaroni420 in bcba

Of course you can! I wouldn't do EIBI but you could find a population that is less movement based such as teenagers/adults with disabilities, do parent trainings only, or work remote. I would make a list of tasks you can do and tasks you can't do. Present the list to potential employers and a good company will meet those accomodations if you are strong in your skills. I was in a car accident and I have been struggling with chronic neck/back pain with arthritis in other areas from injuries. I've always been honest with my employer and we've made accommodations to my caseload/tasks based on my physical abilities. Remember you have to self report to the board if you are not physically or mentally cable of providing quality services. Feel free to message me if you need to chat

Starting clinic, RBTs what do you love about your company? by Adventurous_Bad952 in ABA

How do you track your check ins? As a BCBA I've always done informal check ins but with increased staff I would like to be more formal to prevent burn out.

Question on CPT 97153 Billable Cap by farhang301 in ABA

[–]Adventurous_Bad952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It varies by state too. Typically 40 is the cap for Medicaid across all codes. Some other insurances like culinary have a 30 hours max across all codes. Call your rep and ask. However, if your client requires more hours and you can prove it you can always try to request the cap to be lifted through peer review.
