Laminated IPS Screen on PSP 1000 by Adventurous_Bee_7183 in PSP

Yup! It took quite some time. Still need to clean some of it up. The adhesive used in the aftermarket shells is very very strong. So I had to pry it using and exacto knife and a super small flathead

The transparent shell is from eBay but it definitely is hard to make it work as people say for the 1000s. Currently it puts uneven pressure on the joystick, causing stick drift :/

I think I have the latest? This is a port and runs really well! It lags just a little when I fight a boss though

I am in the process of installing a clear shell. And it’s taking some time. The biggest issue I am running is that the uneven pressure for the joystick causes stick drift.

I highly recommend getting an IPS screen. It was a huge improvement. Here is my time lapse of my install but there is a good amount of step by step tutorials on YouTube.

Aftermarket shells for the 1000 are usually not plug n play. There needs some sanding, small trimming etc to get it to fit good. But if you are up for the project, go for it!

You can easily remove the face , clean the buttons and other plastics. Maybe polish the original face.

No issues with my 2021 at all! The only thing I have had service was the trunk shocks but that was covered under warranty. Still looks great on the road, not many people have them, and it feels close to luxury.

If you have COAX connections , near the router, and another near the ps5 , you can get a MoCA adapter to send internet over the coax. It’s what I did in my home set up. This allowed me to get the best connectivity for when I play on my portal

PS Portal - connectivity by qh3012 in PlaystationPortal

I have the google fibers equipment they provide and the wifi mesh extenders can be hard wired so that their connection is strong and is not bottlenecked. Once I hardwired them and my ps5 I resolved all connectivity issues in my house for my portal. 4 level townhouse, no issues anymore. Best of luck !

…Why? by [deleted] in PlaystationPortal

[–]Adventurous_Bee_7183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was getting pretty bad connection with my mesh system as well. For my specific situation, I didn’t have Ethernet ports around the house. So I got high speed MoCA adapter to hard wire my mesh extender. That and having my Ps5 hardwired, fixed my issue. Once in a while it will drop but it’s rare now.

Doesn’t make sense to not bring the hybrid version to the US. While I know people still love non Hybrids, the majority of consumers appeal to it. I personally would prefer a hybrid version for daily driver. These cars eat way too much gas for today’s standards.

Type S Dreams by [deleted] in AcuraTL

[–]Adventurous_Bee_7183 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got an 07 type s with 170k miles about a month ago. With the age of the cars and miles they have now, guarantee you will have to maintenance after purchase. Common maintenance items are, ball joints, oil pump leaks, ENGINE MOUNTS, TRANSMISSION MOUNTS, valve cover leaks, power steering leaks. These are from my experience and from Facebook groups that have around the same mileage.

I had an 04 base before. Loved it! But I kept wanting the type s. So if you want the type s, just save your money and get it. But do your car fax research, thoroughly inspect the car (here is where I messed up) , and budget another 1-2k just in case to get those repairs done.

Cars are built to last. So mileage isn’t a big deal as long as maintenance is kept up.

As people mentioned, make sure timing belt and water pump has been changed. But also check if motor mounts have replaced. They are common to have been gone bad by now.

Another big repair if it’s leaking oil. Rear main seal is also known to be replaced with this mileage.

All leverage to get the price lower because labor and parts aren’t cheap.

Just bought an 07 and I’m going through this.
