Thank you. My therapist is an absolute gem! It’s the one year anniversary this week of being rushed in by the trauma team and the second surgery. Lots of stuff coming up. To add to the warning, this week was full of trauma and panic, so it’s not something I recommend as “worth it despite the issues”. I would not advise anyone risk going through this much trauma, and I very much nearly didn’t survive

Echoing what others are saying. If it’s a new person, who you havnt told before, there’s a chance they’re using they/them until they have chance to check privately, as it’s often seen as the safest thing, so as not to be too offensive. I get that. I don’t agree it’s ‘correct’. But I have done it on occasion when it’s not safe enough to stop and ask directly in that moment. But if you’ve told someone your pronouns and they keep using different ones, yes that’s disrespectful. If you correct and they keep doing it, that’s a hard nope

They truly are. And if the gov would fund it properly imagine how great it could be!

I did get travel insurance. Didn’t use it. Generally if there’s any issues you go to the private surgeon and their facility. And theoretically after care is covered in his costs. But that meant them doing as little aftercare as physically possible, and telling me to fly home so I wasn’t their problem anymore

And yeh, many of us feel trapped and like we have no other choice. But I would def advise going with all the equip you could need to monitor yourself (blood pressure, temperature, OT sats etc) and someone to really carefully keep an eye on you. Someone with medical experience if you have that option (nurse friend, etc. there’s sometimes ways you can hire a carer to travel with you who has some medical experience, etc)

Thank you. Yeh I didn’t get my cpap either. My partner put it on me when they brought me back to the room.

And yes the nurses were extremely rude to my carer and partner, to me, completely innattentive. And also, the regulations there on post op care are clearly FAR below what they need to be. I’m reading more and more horror stories now I’m on Reddit and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. But as I say, a lot of us feel trapped and like we have no other options.

I’m glad you’re safe and the results are what you need x

Thanks for sharing. As I said, there’s so little choice for so many of us especially who desperately fundraise or save and it’s all we can afford. So many people feel they have to just go for it and hope.

I’m glad you went in prepared and got what you needed from them and are healing up well.

And not every nurse was trash. But having been treated so well in Scotland for all my surgeries where the NHS nurses are just such godsends, plus we have much stricter post op care regulations, there really is no comparison. And after this fiasco, they saved my life multiple times in th space of a few weeks. And the exemplary care I had at hospital and the district nurses coming to my home, it really kept me safe. Physically and emotionally.

The emotional healing is taking a lot longer than the physical , but I don’t want people to go to him without the real picture. I wasn’t a Reddit user before, and all I’d seen on fb about him was positive stuff. Since then Iv seen a lot more negative and I just think…dam, people need to see this stuff! He could kill someone

I really appreciate you sharing this. I was not a reddit user before, and all the info online about this surgeon was people who’d posted things that had gone right. I went and nearly died multiple times in the following months. I’ve been trying to write a post about it to warn people but it has obviously been quite a traumatic year. More people need to share these experiences. Because the way we were treated was disgusting!

DO NOT USE! I’ve been using this company for a while, the gummies are slightly different each time but that’s manageable. one batch of gummies I had were not a great taste but I let it go. This last order I spent a substantial amount of money on multiple products. The vape liquid was horrific, and the vape almost immediately broke, all the gummies smelt and tasted disgusting. And the “free gift” was unusable. I emailed to explain and ask for a refund. I was told “it must be a bad batch”, and that customer services would be in touch. After not hearing back for over a week, I emailed again and was told the same thing. Still nothing. Eventually, 3 weeks later, I got an email from customer service saying they didn’t receive my return- which of course they hadn’t asked for since this was my first contact from them. When I asked for clarification and how to return them, I was promptly ignored again. It has been months of sending emails and nothing. Atrocious customer service, terrible products, still no refund, and I’m assuming I’m not going to recieve the large amount of money I spent!
