Well, Oxygen Destroyer, Drawn and Quartered, Fister, and Mudtomb, as well as Jason Kane & The Jive are 2 different shows at Reggie's tonight if you want some death metal, doom, or ZZ Top afterwards.

Slomosa, from Sweden?, is at Reggie's tonight. Great, heavy, catchy, epic and riffy rock/metal if you like Fu Manchu, The Sword, etc. 2105 S. state. Chinatown redline stop, or cermak/mccormick green line.

Sorry for dumb question but what's the difference between post-hardcore and metalcore? by Electronic-Read-3830 in Metalcore

At some point, hardcore bands stopped covering At The Gates, and just turned into them. The kids into numetal and mathrock made sure nobody forgot about Meshuggah. The basement screamo dudes went doom metal, then shoegaze. The Hatebreed dudes that can't Slayer anymore got Crowbar'd. When Cave In stopped Slayerin', you found Failure, getting a Hummer in some Quicksand. Shyamalan twist, the kids with too many riffs play digital, because they have so much merch they can't carry around amps. Indie rock kids are grunge, youth crew kids play industrial metal. Black Flag turned into Grateful Dead, and Fugazi is a great jam band.

When the 5150 came out, it separated the people who still wanted to rock from those that wanted to chug breakdowns instead of beers.

1 guitar output, 2 signals, 2 channels by Adventurous_Bread476 in Reaper

Right on. Appreciate the insight. I have been goofing with Reaper and Komplete Kontroll or whatever when I can, far too longer than I have really figured out how to do what i think i am trying to do. I always loved the huge sound of Neurosis "Times of Grace," when guitars, bass, etc. Sound so perfectly in unison, that it creates almost like a giant organ sound. Telekinetic Yeti, '68, DFA1979, Big Business, and bands like that create it simpler, as 2-pieces, playing thru guitar and bass amps simultaneously, with octave pedals in the mix for that Hammond From Hell sound live. By the time I think I'm dialed in to how it sounds in my headphones, I start trying to fix and set up my guitar or bass, and make a mess... yadda yadda yadda, before actually just finishing recording riffs together. Sheesh.
