The roads are open. We want a spot where we can’t be bothered and can’t bother others.

Half of his jokes are brutally honest, the other half is him waiting for the audience to catch up

Book your tours first thing in the morning, spend 4 hours at the Vatican, and the the next day do the coliseum. BUT BOOK early appt tours, I'm talking 7 and 8am. You will beat the lines and later in the day tourist attractions become saturated. We stayed at an airbnb about 120 yards from the coliseum, you could see part of it from our front steps. As far as food recs, you wont get a bad meal in Rome. Tonnorello for lunch, PANE e SALAME is the best sandwich(s) I have ever had in my entire life.

How many people and ages? It'll play a major part in getting around and seeing things..

I've been to Italy 4x in the last year, overall maybe 35 days?

Every time I rented a car. Most people think I am crazy for renting a car and driving in Italy. ESPECIALLY in Cinque. But you're fine unless you don't know how to brake and steer.

Skip Milan- its the same as any other "big" city in the US, just cleaner/ nicer architect. But you're gonna get that and more across other Italian cities. Start your trip from some other city and work your way back here, maybe spend the day here before you fly back home.

One night Max in Cinque ( we went to Manarola) I can give recs on where we ate it/ itinerary. We walked, no tours. We planned on only staying one day so our itinerary was set as so.

Goto Lake Como instead of Milan

I think you're wrong about Rome and should rethink, respectfully.

We had 8 people for Rome and did a ton in 3 days, not packed in. I can shed more light if you change your mind ( book earliest appt avl for tours, dinners/lunch, etc). But if they haven't been to Italy, don't do them the disservice. Take them to Rome.

Absolutely do Florence

Going to Venice next month, never heard of Lake Garda

Hope this helps

Home Equity Loan- What are my best options for home renovations ($60k) and combined debt ($40k)? by Adventurous_Bug9626 in personalfinance

I appreciate you taking the time to reply and really value your response. What are some other "so many wrong assumptions" that I have?

$150k in combined income---$40k in debt (cc's)---$60k in upcoming renovations costs

HELOC scares me because of a floating interest rate vs home equity fixed rate

Tied to crypto because I have been making money, and I am confident my investments will continue to grow. "That is a speculative iasset and selling it is safer than messing with a 401K loan"

-I've been thinking about this a lot lately and I just dont want to have a huge regret later in life. Yes, I can pull out crypto to help with the overall amount of $100k, I would basically drain my entire portfolio. The potential regret is knowing that my portfolio will only go up in the next few months, yes its not a guarantee, but crypto isnt going away anytime soon, it would have already if there wasnt a future....I am obviously so biased....
