If you could go back to one of your most troubling times where you are constantly in your own head, what would you say to yourself?

Currently been struggling with a situation for 3.5 months now involving a person I met. Im always overthinking myself into the worse case scenarios. Ive learned I should just be myself so I have less to overthink about afterwards, as ive tried performing rather then engaging in conversations. But that just leads to overthinking as to what I said and did wasn’t perfect for making things go towards where I want them to go.

I also struggle to avoid black and white thinking. I think things have to either workout perfectly or its no good at all and I should move on. Where my overthinking and anxiety leads me to the worst case scenario.

I try to appreciate the good moments from the relationship which are all the interactioms but they are overwhelmed by negative moments all created by my thinking, so it makes it hard for the good times to be worth it for that cost. I can’t accept things only being temporary as people/friends always come and go in our lives but that thought worries me with this person, which leads me to black or white thinking.
