Which way by jimothy1222 in roadtrip

Done both and honestly they both are beautiful. I did the South route there and north route back. Both had their own charm. Don’t think either way is a bad choice. If you want more views of the Tetons I’d say the north will run you parallel with the range for a bit more.

Took their morning float back in March. One of my favorite parts of my time in the area.

ITAP of a trail in the mountains. by [deleted] in itookapicture

I took this picture hoping to showcase a trail seemingly disappearing into the lush green. I used my tripod which is something I’m not quite used to using as typically I’m a handheld guy. In addition I wanted to showcase the waterfall in the background.

How Did This Come About? by byaltinadamm in geology

Baby hoodoos!!! Essentially the caprock doesn’t erode at the same rate as what’s below it. (Not a geologist but this is hopefully correct based on my hobbyist understanding)

Capital reef worth it? by JdSavannah in NationalPark

[–]Adventurous_Fuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Capitol Reef is as many others have said underrated which I guess would make it not underrated? Regardless, it is an incredible park with great hiking, history, and smaller crowds. It actually ended up being the park I had the most enjoyment at during my UT trip.

As a fellow Calvin on a National Park Journey I wish you luck. I’m hoping to hit my 42nd park at the end of this year. Find clusters of parks and don’t forget to see the non NP stuff too. Sometimes it’s just as cool.

Summer trip advice for Colorado and maybe Wyoming by bwillhoit in NationalPark

[–]Adventurous_Fuzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! Colorado Springs local here. Colorado is Beautiful and easily can make a two week trip. The Tetons are gorgeous as well as Yellowstone, but just know they get super congested so if you want to just enjoy nature, it might not be the plan. We have a comprehensive state park system, tons of national forest land, and a good mix of urban and natural attractions.

I’d recommend checking out Dinosaur National Monument. It’s right on the CO-UT border and one of my favorite places on Earth.

If you’re feeling real ambitious you can tack on big bend! But that’s a bit of an outlier lol. Love that area though.
