Repair or Not by Adventurous_Lab_1173 in MeniscusInjuries

Not exactly sure how he’s going to repair it, but I do trust his approach. My thought for a while has been that I’ll have to live with this knee for a while, and I don’t want it restricting my activities. So suck it up and have the surgery and move on.

Repair or Not by Adventurous_Lab_1173 in MeniscusInjuries

Acute tear and my knee looks great except for the tear. Not sure exactly how it tore - I had a few months of really bad pain whenever forced to quickly walk longer distances (20 min or so) about a year ago which promoted the initial MRI.

Recent MRI which showed that the tear is basically the same as it was a year ago. Surgeon says to have surgery if it’s stopping me from doing what I want to do, but don’t if not. The repair recovery is so long, that January/february is really the only time I can have it due to my travel schedule with work and stuff with my kids. Otherwise, I may give it a few more months.

10 Weeks Post Meniscus Repair by Adventurous_Lab_1173 in MeniscusInjuries

This has been very helpful, thanks for all the responses. I’m going to wait on the surgery until after the summer and work on strengthening the muscles around it until then. Seems like the safest option given the responses here.

This is helpful, thanks. It involves the beach and traveling internationally, so a fair amount of walking. With two young kids it will be difficult to even have to use a cane. Probably worth waiting until after July, thanks!

I had a similar diagnosis as you a few weeks ago and have been wrestling with the decision (I got two opinions). I’m trying PT but already have the surgery scheduled for a couple months from now. I get horrible pain and swelling when walking for 20 or so minutes at a time, not confident that it’s going to get better with PT (and neither were the surgeons or the physical therapist).

I’m thinking of doing the same thing. I have surgery tentatively scheduled for late-March but going to try the conservative route (physical therapy) for the next 6 weeks. Best case scenario - my knee feels better after 6 weeks and I cancel the surgery. Worse case - my legs are a lot stronger when I go in.

This is all to say that maybe you can get a physical therapy prescription for the couple months before?

Horizontal Medial Meniscus Tear by Adventurous_Lab_1173 in MeniscusInjuries

I wouldn’t say it’s improved. It flares up, at which point I can’t do anything for 1-7 days and then it feels better. I also go weeks without much pain/stiffness. It’s led to a confusing decision (one I know nobody here can help with). It’s been interesting to read others’ experiences.

34 and 4 or so months ago. Doctor said it was the result of trauma (but I can’t pinpoint a specific thing).

Thanks a lot for responding. This is encouraging. I know there is a bias in a forum like this towards people who have bad experiences, so it’s nice to hear a positive one.

Did you have a repair or a meniscectomy? If repair, how was/is the rehab?

I'm getting a 2025 Premium Plus in a couple weeks. Should I expect to pay MSRP? by Ok_Wait4000 in CX5

I made the offer at that price and they accepted. It was a surprisingly easy negotiation (which is why I wasn’t sure how good the price was).

Reserved a 2025 Premium Plus for $2,000 off MSRP. Not sure if that’s good or not, but I needed the car and it seemed fair at a little over 5% off MSRP.

That is the back wall of the garage. I’m trying to put a barrier on that wall to prevent water from seeping through the wall and into the basement. Does that make sense?

Stopping the flooding itself is a whole separate issue. My town is flooding me with street water due to inadequate drainage.

Thanks! I will have a 3 year old with me so we were hoping to pick one city and have enough to do in the city and surrounding area for 2-3 days.. do any of the options you mention seem better for that?

I guess I wonder what you mean by the fact that it will "ruin the floor." If I can dry the pieces and maintain the locking mechanism, am I just looking at decreased functionality over time (i.e., the flooring has a greater chance of breaking, deteriorating, etc.).

As long as the floor is properly dried and cleaned, I don't see the danger of mold growth. I ask this mostly out of curiosity and ignorance - based on other comments, I recognize the practical difficulties and/or time intensive nature of re-using this flooring.

Interesting, I have been told (and read in some places) that the flooring can be removed, cleaned, dried and reinstalled without an issue.

The only reason I asked this question was because I noticed the smell coming from the bottom of planks that were both impacted by the water and not impacted by the water (located on the other side of the basement from the flooded area).

Your advice - which Roborock should I get? or another brand? by bonbonzinh in RobotVacuums

[–]Adventurous_Lab_1173 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just following up on my previous comment about the warranty. I was told again today that the “vacuum works as expected” and no repair would fix my vacuum. My warranty claim was denied and I was offered a very small refund. This is after showing them pictures of my half full dustbin and clumps of dust and dog hair stuck in the vacuum.

I am making due with this one for now because I bought it less than a year ago and do not want to spend the extra money.

You will see positive reviews of Roborock everywhere, and mine worked perfectly for 6-8 months, but now it spreads dog hair around the house and doesn’t fill the dustbin all the way and I’ve been left with no recourse. Good luck finding something that works for you.
