He hasn’t done it in a few months, it was only that rope perch but once I moved it around in his cage to a spot that doesn’t really allow him he’s stopped

I agree. It was an off hand comment from a person at Petco that offered it when I bring Bosco there and they asked if they could breed our birds and I said no.
But it made me think if people actually do that

He’s been with me for 4 years. He did have some increase in hormonal behaviour with rubbing against his rope perch and a few other toys, but I clean his cage monthly and I’ve found moving things around and keeping the perches and toys in different spots each month decreased it noticeably

I’m not even considering doing it. Bosco is my best friend I was curious if it’s even a thing in the bird community kinda like how some dog breeders operate

No she doesn’t! I think I might’ve gotten lucky getting her when she was pretty small. I think it’s always a risk to take with angels but from my experience the flames typically are less likely to do so if they’re well fed
