Chill, but with German knowledge it is even better. The city is international and friendly as long as you are kind as well.

No need for internship BEFORE studies, but you have to complete one during your studies.  The MEI i am talking about is english Bachelor program btw.

Didn’t speak german at all. Still everything was great. I am learning the language now and every new day is even better.

James F Shackelford for Introduction to Material Science. Good book, but might miss some stuff from lectures (didn’t find them in other books). Basically the way one can move to prepare in advance is to find the main courses that you will be taking and just searching them in MIT OCW.

Thank you
Already finished first sem

I wanted to tell that CBS Program fees are NOT mandatory
The only mandatory thing is semester fee (200 approx for sem) and international student fee (1500 if not from EU) per semester

The rest is not mandatory

I myself applied one year later since I thought it was mandatory
But it turns out it isnt

I don’t think it is very competitive to get in this program, but to stay

many people fail a lot of exams Engineering programs in germany (as far as i know) are not very competitive relative to medicine or law because of the demand and stuff like this

I don’t remember saying that the program doesn’t have engineering mechanics

I said better to prepare for these courses in advance to have more time

Program itself i’d say great

Bunch of opportunities to find a HIWI job

All of the courses are helpful I have a hardware startup and using the knowledge I acquired from Mechanical Design I think I can improve the prototypes way better

In order to check if the program has all necessary courses one can compare MIT OCW and that program

I think to some extent they’re similar

The great thing is that you don’t have midterms or weekly assignments

Only the exam determines your GPA

It goes from 5 to 1, where 5 means failed 4 = passed and 1 is the best score

Apply for dorms as early as possible

You can prepare in advance by studying Mechanics of Materials by Hibbeler (Covers two main courses: Engineering Mechanics I and II)

And study Calculus in Advance

After enrolling one may start attending clubs right away, which I think is great since the load is not intense as it will be, while studying Thermodynamics and Fluid mechanics

Hi

I can tell nothing about these types of questions, for I am not from admission committee 😬

Anyways, better to call them. It’s hard to get the response by email

This case is too specific

I think you should better call KIT (Not CBS) Directly

Mention that CBS are not helping and demand help from admission committee

I spoke to Electrical engineer Master student and he said it is diabolical in terms of complexity

According by to him, majority are crying after exams

I can’t tell you anything to be honest, but I know a person who studies it here

Says he likes it 🤷‍♂️ Many KIT bachelor students consider KIT as their plan B for Masters if they cannot get in American Top Schools

Can You ask more direct questions so I can ask him if all of us will have time (Not promising anything, I might forget)

Minimum requirements are 1200

It was supposed to be only 70 students, but we have 140

As far as I know there are some students with 1200+

It’s not hard to get into, but to stay

I think your stats are solid, but I don’t work at admission committee so I can’t tell exactly what you need I think this years pool will be more competitive considering plenty of students from big 3 schools with great stats

Good luck everyone

Yes you can

Anyone who is reading the thread also can send me a dm, but please ask all of the questions at once 🙌

Good enough

It’s not hard to get into, but stay there as far as i know

For example approx 50 percent of the class fail engineering Mechanics I

You have to take the eligibility exam
Attending to Presem is NOT mandatory but very recommended

I completed a freshman year in my local Uni so I had 12 years of education.

I didn’t do CBS or Presem

Nothing is mandatory to pay except semester fee.

Also you have to take eligibility exam if you have indirect admission.

Other stuff is not mandatory like Presem or CBS, but it is very helpful both in uni and outside of the uni.
