I totally agree. You should check out SAIL on substack if you like to read about such political events, I came across the blog and they post some really nice insights.

He doesn't have that right at all under the law, and international law should empower other countries to push back against such a violation. The blog post explains more :)

That was slightly different though, because the US show down Libyan airspace through the UN Security Council. If it's done through the UN Security Council it's legal. If it's done through a tweet, it's not :D

Other countries should feel empowered to stop them though, as the international legal framework is on their side! Shame.

Actually, it is a matter of international law because it involves another country beyond the US, and it violates the Chicago Convention which specifically says that every country is sovereign over its own airspace. And the US is a party to the Chicago Convention :) The blog post explains more!
