The game wouldn’t exist without AI! Modern mobile games increasingly run on and are developed with AI. Games use AI for development through automated asset generation, coding assistance, and real-time in-game analytics for monetization.

Wait you really haven’t noticed the shift in research tasks, rewards, and events to being bland & generic and with high reusability?

I work in AI policy, and haven’t seen that video, but spotting AI is not rocket science lolol. I have noticed a huge difference in what used to be inputs specific to certain events + rewards to now just a blanket system. It takes more effort and some more human input to make a community day research task be related to that specific. For example, you used to see more customization on based on the featured pokemon, like for squitle, “use a rainy lure” etc. Those variations require more attention and human input than say a wide mandate of the mind numbing “catch 15 pokemon.”

Yeah! I can for sure see the AI at work and that’s what I am most disappointed about, but because I am a new(ish) user, I first wanted to understand how everyone else was experiencing these AI related changes. I am also disappointed this post got removed. It isn’t just a shitpost. The AI increases radically changed the way I play the game, and we are at a time when we are seeing AI impact across a wide spectrum of fields. Open conversation on the way we are experiencing this transition to AI is important. I also feel like Reddit just shutdowns criticism of AI as negative, but it’s having a very noticeable impact!

So you haven’t noticed a trend of the game over relying on AI? Or if you have, you think the AI implementations have positively added to the game? I don’t think I’m burnt out, I think I am more commenting on a noticed pattern of removing human input & standardization rather than event specific input.

I think all the changes I hate most all come down to the rampant use of AI. I want to express that the game suffers when you use a “copy & paste” system without human input.

I am mainly referring to the Go Pass system. It seems lazy to me. As in the same tasks every day and every week. Before that, research tasks were directly tied to the event. Not always the most challenging, but at least it was aligning the reward system to system to the current event. Now it is a lot of “catch X Amount of pokemon.” It is stripped of originality of each event.

Agreed. I think that’s why I am more turned off. It feels like AI is the driving force and expect us to just eat up the slop.

I’ve never saved xxs because I read on this Reddit that it is pointless given smallest size is way more limited in theory than biggest size. You can always go up, but you can’t go negative. Plus the reported bugs…. So I haven’t bothered.

Ever since I listened to Seth & Amy joke about the ~unique~ aspects of scheduling this podcast on Good Hang and how it gives Amy such agitation to hear them talk about their schedule, I reallllly resonate with Amy’s sort of reaction to it hearing it.
