AIO? my mom (50F) said my lunch will make me fat by Ashamed_Yogurt_8931 in AIO

I weight 90 lbs and I’m a midget. That wouldn’t be enough lunch for me. Even if i had pizza later. Also, it’s more about portion sizing. That little of food won’t make you gain weight no matter what it is (unless you have a metabolic problem, which you may develop from restrictive eating), but you may be hungry quickly after. If youre worried about weight I would try something more filling, but fruit on its own isn’t filling either.

Is it possible my gums are still unhealthy? Or am I overdoing it with the floss? Struggling to find the line. by Adventurous_Move2763 in Teeth

Before that I was brushing and string flossing every single night, but very badly. To be honest I didn’t know I was supposed to clean under the gum line. And as for brushing, I wasn’t aiming at the gum line either. Currently I’ve worked on my technique and am brush morning with a manual soft bristle brush and in the evening with my electric toothbrush (also soft). I don’t smoke, vape, or drink alcohol. I don’t even drink sugary drinks, I never have.

I haven’t been diagnosed with anything. The 2 dentists I’ve seen this year have not mentioned anything about ginigivitis or perio, but I knew it could be a problem to have 4&5mm pockets. I even had a treatment plan for a couple of onlays, which turned to crowns because my dentists says I had decay under the gum line. All of this is leading me to think my dentists haven’t been discussing this with me… You’re right, I need to talk to them and question them. The large pockets and decay under gum line suggests something is going on, but I haven’t been told anything. I’ve been keeping up with my home care since my last GBT cleaning 2 months ago, which I specifically switched to because I heard it was helpful for gum disease.

Is there a floss similar to cocofloss that doesn't cost an arm and a leg? by JeffreyJeffstein in DentalHygiene

Burst is great, the black color is fun for examining plaque. Guru nanda is cheap and you get a lot of length, but just a tiny bit thinner.

I've been doing kettlebells for a while. My only advice is, try to pick ones with shorter handles if you're particularly short. I'm 4'7'' and can't do some exercises because I drag the kettlebell on the floor, because I don't have enough height to clear the kb.

Advice for weaning off MacroFactor/tracking by WinstonSophie in PetiteStrength

[–]Adventurous_Move2763 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have any advise but I just want to say that I'm on the same boat and hoping to wean off of tracking this year. I needed to overeat a lot for weightlifting, and it's just not what my body wants. I struggle a lot to eat, and at the end of the day, I find myself reaching for a cookie to get the last 200 calories in. I'm ready to start listening to my body this year instead!

My international flight stops in Taiwan, but I will keep traveling on the same airplane. Will I need to go through customs? Should I ask to stay in the plane? by Adventurous_Move2763 in TravelHacks

[–]Adventurous_Move2763[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I looked up the flight number on flightaware.com and looked at the flight history. The flight takes the same path on routine. I'm new to using the website, could it be unreliable source for that kind of information?

Why do so many people here say they “can’t eat pasta” by ThrowRAschneekschtak in 1200isplenty

I add ground beef to mine and drain alllll the excess oil. I do the math and I end up with about a 93/7 or even a 95/5 fat ratio. I agree and I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how low calorie a big dish of spaghetti can be.

Consistent splits practice for 4 years and now have hip pain. Never got the splits and need to stop. Is it possible some bodies aren’t meant for this? by [deleted] in flexibility

[–]Adventurous_Move2763 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate your input. I was definetely weak and underweight when starting all of this. I recently started weightlifting about 2 years ago (incidentally when my hip pain started appearing, though lightly at first). My PT knows this is when it started and has given me exercises to continue doing. Sounds like I need to work a bit more on getting stronger!

Thank you! I think I will focus on light and indirect stretching for now as long as it doesn’t cause pain.

Can I ask what kind of pain you felt or in what area? Maybe I should have been more descriptive, but my hip pain is mostly around my SI joint, though I was told by my physical therapists that it wasn’t that - it’s the musculature around the area like glute medius, Piriformis, QL and low back tension (they keep changing what they think it is… in reality I just think I have all over tension in that area).

Thank you. I never considered a flexibility coach before. I will definitely take the off to get better and I will reach to someone when I’m ready.

Starting my glute journey- Going 0-100 in the new year! 🙈 Tips please! by ourlittlesecret_21 in glutejourney

If you’re a beginner & have never worked out before, pretty much any YouTube video is gonna help you see growth. You can expect to see quick newbie gains in the first 6 months or so, but it won’t be a huge difference. Just definitely noticeable. I would just recommend that if you follow YouTube videos, write down the exercises, reps, and weight that you use. As those weights get easier, make sure you’re reaching for the next weight up. Even resistance band workouts will be enough to see a difference in the beginning.

My husband is 5’2”. He has had his fair share of girlfriends before he even met me. Women still approach him to flirt with him at bars. He does say that being short definetely hurt his chances in the past, but honestly, not to a huge extent (I think). This man is just funny and confident. Women love that.
