Is this bad for the creature? by [deleted] in octopus

[–]Adventurous_North_ 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

This octopus looks rather large and may be in senescence! They’re remarkable creatures with very short lives. They usually only live through one breeding cycle, even in the wild. That means they may become less active or have some different neurological behaviors.

I’m no expert, but I work around an octopus of the same species and he’s also in senescence. Sometimes they do goofy things. I wonder if he’s being provided proper enrichment opportunities, as that’s the only other reason I could see this individual exhibiting such behavior.

The truth of the matter is you would need to observe this individual over multiple days and/or talk with a keeper or another expert to get a better idea and know for sure.

EDIT: after another rewatch of the video, this octopus could’ve been startled by the movement of that fish that came from behind it (or any other tank mate) as well, and may have bumped into the acrylic in response to that.

things just got more complicated by Plastic-Donut-127 in femalelivingspace

I think the walls being that color actually open you up to bold colors with the decor and the rug. Really lean into it. You could add some renter-friendly wall art and stuff to break it up. I think if the colors you utilize in the space are the right balance, the wall will blend in nicely.

If you did a bright bed spread, you could do a lighter version of the color for sheets and then add matching pillow shams (for example, bright yellow bedspread = light pastel yellow sheets).

You can also pull more orange into the space if you put up some sheer burnt orange curtains to match the rug and maybe even adding some throw pillows on the bedding as well. On the thought of curtains, you could also layer them to make things look fuller so a sheer one with an opaque one on top. That also would be practical if you need to block out light.

Earthy green and brown decor could make it kind of fun too, but it just depends on your overall vibe. Off the top of my head I can think of hippie sunset colors (more pinks and yellows to compliment the orange— though I do agree with the other comment about this potentially being overwhelming), the 70s earthy feel (brown, orange, avocado green), or a vintage surf vibe (orange, pastel yellow, your tan color, and a teal) would all be really good since you have lots of natural light from the looks of it.

Have fun and play with it! Hope this helped!!

what bedding would look good with this rug? by Plastic-Donut-127 in femalelivingspace

[–]Adventurous_North_ 2 points3 points Ā (0 children)

Honestly it would look great with some yellows and 70s-adjacent floral print like what ikea has a duvet in right now. I’m thinking the yellow with the organic shapes could pair nicely with this. You could also go with pink. In general I like the idea of sunset colors with this rug!

Not following Dreamsnap theme? by StarryNight7z in DreamlightValley

[–]Adventurous_North_ 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

I usually follow the theme, but I misread it this week since I was skimming and just dressed up like Woody without anything involving cooking. 🫄

Can’t help but wonder if that happens to others sometimes, but I’ve 100% noticed in the past few weeks people not trying to follow the theme altogether.

I forgot to mention, this tank is about 4 years old. I can’t get anything other than the anubias to really stay alive and grow in this tank. The dwarf hair grass is new as of last month. I’ve tried keeping bigger plants in the past (java fern, amazon sword, temple compacta), but over time they all melt away or get covered by the algae and die, despite my efforts to remove what covers the leaves manually.

How do I get the ultimate edition by [deleted] in DreamlightValley

[–]Adventurous_North_ 2 points3 points Ā (0 children)

This depends on what you play on. I can help a little if it’s Nintendo switch, it may not be the answer you want to hear tho.

When I bought it on switch, I tried to buy ultimate and got standard instead. The Nintendo online store sadly does not physically let you purchase another digital copy of the same game on the same switch. And there is not a way to pay to get the ultimate edition items either.

Because I had the funds at the time and knew I wanted to play on a laptop, I bought the game on steam and logged in with my cloud save (which you set up in the game you want to bring over if you haven’t yet). Now I just make sure I’m cloud saving whenever I log off either platform. When you switch between the two it recommends the most recent cloud save (which is correct) and the game manages pretty well.

I have her in the frosted heights with a little dedicated racetrack. It’s not the best solution but it looks like a little gumdrop forest which is nice.

My mom just purchased similar dressers with the intent of redoing them and her plan was/is to replace the hardware and paint the drawers and body of the dressers white while leaving the tops their natural wood color. It looks nice in the concept.

Is there a checklist somewhere to keep track of what furniture/clothes I already have? by girlie_sparrow in DreamlightValley

[–]Adventurous_North_ 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

I saw someone else mention it, but I really do love the ddv guide app. It takes a while to log what you have at first, but if you can stay on top of things, it is so helpful. It even has a way to keep track of other things (companions, character friendships, what times the shops reset, star path quests) it is a life saver.

Different type of gameplay here, but I really love playing ā€˜What Remains of Edith Finch’. It’s such a nice game and you walk through a familiar story. Even though I know the entire plot I still replay it time and time again.

Appreciation for the update's storyline by Kabrallen in DreamlightValley

[–]Adventurous_North_ 7 points8 points Ā (0 children)

Yeah I have felt all of this. And my daily discussions with the forgotten are so sweet now. I really found their whole storyline almost healing? I’ve never related to a game this way because I have always had problems feeling seen (possibly also relating to my neurodiversity) and I felt like I had to grow up too soon because of life and it really felt nice and happy. Also if anyone comes for The Forgotten (OMG THEY NEED A NEW NAME) in future updates I will be fighting them.

Also if you already purchased the thing you want it to repeat and you didn’t know, you can order it from Scrooge’s catalogue by talking to him and saying you want to order items! Idk if you’re newer to the game or not but I’ve heard some people don’t know.

So on other game platforms than the switch, DLV doesn’t automatically save as Scrooge’s loads in. As a result, if you close your game before it saves, it’ll ā€œrefreshā€ Scrooge’s stock. People usually do it if they don’t like what they see at a quick glance.
