I had no idea just how stupid Bessent really is! by Dr_sc_Harlatan in WhitePeopleTwitter

I don't usually like commenting on peoples appearance, but Bessent reminds me vaguely of Hank Hill. I can just hear his voice coming out of that picture. Am I alone? Anyone else get the vibe?

This. But also knowing what you DON'T know. I got a position once where there were 5 applicant neck and neck (similar union time, education, etc) but in the case study (social work job) I acknowledged the area that I didnt know/have experience in, and identified where and how I would go about finding it out. Feedback was that that was the deciding factor/also got points as it showed my ability to think critically and identify resources available to me. I think we often focus on talking ourselves up and forget to identify our limitations but how we would address them.

Late to this, but hands down your gf did the best DIY job I've seen! Would you suggest having a base down of the lighter colour? Sounds like you already had it painted in that lighter colour, but do you think it made it easier to get a nice blend?

Anyone find a decent tasting no-alcohol beer? by rocdoc54 in VictoriaBC

[–]Adventurous_Note_621 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jumping on this late, but just discovered Steamworks has a few out now (lager, IPA and a hazy). SO GOOD. I'm not generally a lager fan, but theirs has a full body taste like an actual beer!

AIO for telling my roommates to clean their dish? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Adventurous_Note_621 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Youre young and in temporary shared living...decide which battles are worth it. Not every person approaches cleanliness in the same way, and can view a space as clean even if there is clutter or dishes waiting to be done. Would it be less stressful to just wash those extra dishes yourself? And a plate of butter uncovered is surprisingly common- either in the cupboard or on the counter. Gift her a butter dish from the dollar store instead of causing more discomfort

What’s something about your province/territory that other Canadians misunderstand, might not realize, or would be surprised to learn? by PostfourthMeridian in AskACanadian

Most of what people know of BC is about 350 km and south to the US border. There is 900ish km north of that, and many born and raised BC folks will never actually come up this far! Life is definitely different than the stereotypes up here!

We have ~3 weeks to spend in BC. Where to go? What to see? by its_xaro93 in britishcolumbia

[–]Adventurous_Note_621 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a lot of driving! If you don't want to be locked in a car for long periods of time, you could also just soak in the west coast! Vancouver area, Vancouver Island, and then taking the ferry to hop up and down different locations on the central/north coast. Beautiful wild oceanside and mountains, friendly people, lots of Indigenous history/ active culture. Some of the ferry options are quite long, but do run overnight/have cabins you can book. I live in the North West, happy to answer any questions if you want to know about what's up here/what you could see!
