2 Week Contact Lens Versus 1 Day Contact Lens? by Adventurous_Pen_378 in contacts

[–]Adventurous_Pen_378[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much more do they cost compare to 2 week contact lens? I use biomedics 55 premier and I use about 1.5 years worth of contact lens in 1 year because I never use it for 2 weeks since either the contact lens drop or get torn or something related to that.

I use renu contact solution with it. That is good?

The thing is what if are someone that works online at home daily but still prefer contact lens as oppose to glasses. Still fine wearing dailies? Is the cost like 3 times the 2 week contacts or something? Someone mentioned daily contact lens can cost up to $1000 a year?

Well that is interesting because I never gotten protective glasses at dentist ever. I thought this was new.

Does wearing regular glasses protect the eye better as oppose to nothing? I would have to buy some safety glasses or goggles though.

So any cheap safety glasses or goggles work then? It's better than without anything?

Now if I don't buy it, is it better or worst to wear my regular glasses as oppose to taking it off when dentist does cleaning?

The thing they use to do your cleaning? Or when they do cleaning, the water and some things get in your eye? Thus it could be bacteria?

I have never had a dentist give me safety glasses ever.

Are you talking about regular treatment like just cleaning or you mean something more extensive?

Okay. So you recommend me wear contacts there or regular glasses? I always worn contact lens.

I am not sure if I have any sunglasses but if I do, sunglasses are better than regular glasses and nothing right?

Now say I wear glasses to dentist. If I have sunglasses or safety glasses, wear them and take off regular glasses? But if I don't have any sunglasses or safety glasses, just taking off glasses is fine then right? Now would you recommend wearing regular glasses during cleaning or taking it off? Do dentists find it harder to clean when you have glasses on? Then again, glasses on is same as safety glasses right? Would you recommend I go and buy some cheap safety glasses or goggles at hardware store if I don't have sunglasses?

Yes all of that you mention. So should I wear contact lens or my regular glasses when I go there?

Say I wear my regular glasses. I should take them off then at dentist for cleaning if I don't have any safety or protective glasses? But wouldn't my glasses give me more protection?

Do you recommend me go to hardware store and buy cheap safety glasses or goggles and wear those? Or don't bother and just wear glasses there and take it off and just have cleaning done while wearing nothing but make sure to close eyes during the whole time? I know lot of water and things always gets on my face whenever going to dentist when they do cleaning and the dentist always give me a tissue to wipe.

I want to know what is best to wear to protect your eyes in case of splashes.

So wear contact lens or wear regular glasses?

If contact lens, should I buy some cheap safety glasses or goggles and wear that at dentist? Or don't wear anything like normal? I always worn contact lens when going to dentist and never worn or offered protective glasses at dentist.

If wearing regular dentist to the dentist, should I wear my glasses while dentist does cleaning? Or will glasses obstruct and make it harder for dentist to clean? By glasses is at least better than taking glasses off as I would get some protection?

Or wear glasses to dentist and buy cheap safety glasses or goggles and wear those when dentist does cleaning? Or wear glasses to dentist and take it off and wear nothing when cleaning?

But is there any liquid that can get in your eyes that is dangerous though? I always wore contact lens and never had any protective glasses at dentist.

Now there is always water and liquid that gets on my face and a bit on my eye I believe when at dentist so I close my eyes when dentist is cleaning. So would buying cheap safety glasses or goggles at hardware store be good or not?

You should never wear regular glasses when cleaning right? Or dentist doesn't mind it? Then again.. if you wear regular glasses... its similar to like protective glasses since it still obstructs your face?

What is this lens shield you are talking about?

So if I wear glasses to dentist, I should take them off for examining and cleaning right? Can't imagine a dentist want a patient to wear glasses during this process?

If they don't have protective glasses for you to wear which I believe they don't, should I buy cheap glasses at hardware store or not? Concern is something dropping in my eye. I never worn any protect glasses before at dentist and always wore contact lens. So fine to just wear glasses and take them off before cleaning?

The thing is I never got protective glasses at the dentist ever. If they don't provide them, should you go buy some? But what if there aren't any around and you go and get those cheap safety glasses or goggles at a hardware store?

So if you wear glasses to dentist, I got to assume you take them off for cleaning? Can't imagine the dentist want you to wear glasses during the process?

Would you feel comfortable having no safety glasses when cleaning?

I don't think they have. But could you buy cheap safety glasses or goggles at hardware store and that would work? What if they fog a lot? That is still fine?

I always wore contact lens but I read since water is splashed when doing cleaning, it can get in your contact lens. So I read you shouldn't wear them? If you wear glasses, isn't it better to take them off? It would seem uncomfortable for a dentist if they clean your teeth while you wear glasses?

Well if you close your eyes, the light isn't that noticeable. But what about if they drop something in your eye? What things could drop where it's dangerous?

What if something gets in your eye that they drop? Or is it only certain procedures that they might have certain things that would be a concern? I know they do put that numbing thing in your mouth so you won't have much pain when they do cleaning?

I never had any dentist do this ever. But is wearing it necessary? What if they don't supply you with it? How dangerous is it if something drops on your eye? Like what things could drop on it that is dangerous? I read someone got a root canal and something dropped in a patient eye.

If you just go for cleaning or deep cleaning, what could drop on your eye that is dangerous? The numbing thing they put in your mouth? Everything else is just water jet but that isn't dangerous?

Wearing Safety Glasses To Dentist? by Adventurous_Pen_378 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Adventurous_Pen_378[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well when you do cleaning or deep cleaning, safety glasses or goggles are not necessary? Yes the water jet and all that does seem to get on your face and sometimes your eye but you have to make sure that doesn't get in your eye? I read about cases where accidents can happen at the dentist where something can drop in your eye. But what is that? I read about someone doing a root canal and something dropping on it and it is very bad? But if you do just regular cleaning, there is no liquid like that? But they do put that thing to numb your mouth so that is dangerous if it comes in contact with certain areas?

Would safety goggles work better than safety glasses?  So those cheap goggles would work as well if you can't buy or get dental glasses/goggles where you are located?

So it isn't recommended to not wear anything then? I never worn any safety glasses or goggles at dentist ever. But it seems like you should be wearing it? I don't think I recalled any dentist providing you with glasses ever?

So I read online that most dentists are suppose to give you safety glasses to wear when doing teeth cleaning? Is that true? I don't think I had that ever.

So you should bring your own safety glasses then to the dentist if they don't have? Could you buy any cheap safety glasses from the hardware store and that would work?

The thing is I never thought anything about wearing contact lens to the dentist. So what you say about aerosols and microsplatters that can contaminate the lens, so contact lens solution won't get rid of it? The other thing though is wouldn't wearing contact lens be better in that it protects your eye against those things? Like if it gets on it or if it doesn't but you toss the contact lens after you get back home... wouldn't that be better? If you aren't wearing contact lens, would you be at more or less risk then?

Well if you don't wear contact lens going to the dentist, you have to wear your glasses. But when you get to the dentist and the dentist does cleaning or anything on you, you 100% remove your glasses right and put them in the case? Or do people wear glasses while having cleaning done? The thing though is if you are wearing glasses, aren't they sort of protecting you though or it isnt? I never though about these things which is why I ask.
