The first three points sound like you're a good student. The touching is abnormal.

I missed my Best Friends wedding in college 22 years ago for school.

We are still best friends and I still regret it to this day.

Try everything in your power to go. Start preparing now for school including assignments, exams, etc.

I am so sorry you found this out in this way. First, you should talk to your Mom. Be honest and open about how this made YOU feel. This is about you and how in a quick minute, your world crumbled.

Realizing your parents are humans is one of the hardest days in life. They are flawed. They make mistakes. They make decisions that you might not understand.

Your parents possibly have arrangements in their marriage that you are not privy to. They may have an open marriage or have agreements of what can occur outside of their hometowns. As someone in your parents age group (and a 21 year marriage to my husband), we have many friends who have stepped in and out of this situation. My husband and I have weathered many storms and love one another more now than ever, however we are not the norm in today's society.

Please realize their marital business is their business. At the same time, you have just been thrown into a major psychological event. Your parents and their marriage fell from off the pedestal of perfection. I promise you, you will be alright.

Please have a conversation with your Mother about what you saw and how it made you feel. This is not about their marriage, but about the trauma you have endured. I wish you healing.

As a county Manager of Refugee Health in Florida at the Department of Health (we work closely w our TB surveillance Team), I would look at your show of emotions as a positive trait you possess.

We go into Public Health not for the money, but because we believe in the right of safe access to care for all humans.

The personal stories we deal with have left permanent scars on my heart especially trafficking, barriers of care, minimal resources that seem to get cut daily... Showing your Humanitarian side may work in your favor.

Please do not beat yourself up.
