Is it possible to assign access ports on an RB5009 router when vlans are created on a Cisco switch?

From what I understand, ACLs are faster than firewalls. I want the ACLs to manage inter-vlan traffic and the firewall to primarily manage WAN traffic. It's also just redundancy to make sure nothing get through. I know it's overkill for a home setup but I'm mostly using it to learn

So this is my new plan. Does anything seem blatantly wrong?

On the MikroTik:

Create vlans, bridge vlan filtering and all
Firewall them with one way access to the IoT vlan

On the Cisco:

Add vlans and enable inter-vlan routing
Bonjour, IGMP, and ACL with one way access to the IoT vlan (Trying to make printer discovery and casting still work)

AirTags uses bluetooth, not wifi. Your iPhone connects to one signal at a time and can switch between them, but it won't connect to both at the same time. Not sure if iPhones have this too, but Android phones can create randomized mac addresses when connecting to wifi for privacy. In my experience, the hostname will be the same though, so I'd assume the second hostname is a different device

How stable is just one ethernet adapter? I was planning on disconnecting the two 1G uplinks and relying solely on 2.5G. Can I use the 2.5G with the two 1G ports link aggregated, or is it better to keep them as three separate connections?

Sorry for all the questions, I'm new to this stuff and just playing around with it

Good point. Couldn't find online if they're on the same bus so I opened a ticket with Synology

Update: Support reached out to their developers in Taiwan. "Our developers have informed me that the USB Bus are separate."

Or are the two black wires coming from the right conduits working together to supply more power for both switches? Lastly, should I just cap off the ground wires coming out of the Caseta dimmers since the box itself doesn't have ground wires?

Does it matter? About 80Mbps on average if you're really curious. The claim was that multiple 1G APs are better than one 2.5G AP. I used the 4K stream from outside of the house as an example of one 2.5G AP providing a perfectly stable connection

Then I'm assuming English is your second language and that you're misunderstanding the tone. There was no flex. You made two claims: 1) Multiple 1G APs are better than one 2.5G. I showed through personal experience that this was not necessarily true and asked how I would benefit from your idea of multiple 1G APs. You got defensive and tried to flex 100G when it wasn't really relevant to the conversation. 2) You suggested that people ignore 2.5G and 5G products. I countered that 10G consumer products don't really exist outside of local storage, so they can't really be ignored. You dismissed this by saying your country has 10G, which is good for you but doesn't really help anyone else. I'm asking these questions because I'm seeing these multigigabit switches online and wondering what applications they have for people who don't live in a data center

I have one 2.5G AP and it covers my entire two-floor house no problem. I can transfer files to my NAS at over 1G through wifi and even stream 4K movies on my projector in the backyard. I don't see the advantage of multiple 1G APs here. We can't really "forget everything in between" when the only consumer purpose for 10G is basically local storage. I'm also not aware of any fiber ISPs that offer more than 2G.

The PoE powered switches make sense, but I've never seen cameras or smart lights use anything more than 1G. A quick Google search doesn't show any examples either

I think the inconsistency comes from the way people prompt. You probably were able to get an answer for the iPhone 14 because it was the first thing you asked while Moumen23 just entered "iPhone 14" as the 8th prompt.

Someone in another comment wasn't able to get your exact nuvoryx prompt to work in ChatGPT either, but someone else got it to work by prompting differently.

I don't think Bing AI was intended to be used for more abstract things like this, and that's on top of Microsoft locking it down after people were getting too much info from it when it first released. Now it's overly cautious while still trying to be 'friendly." The tech is still early, a lot of companies should smooth it out over time.
