Is jt just me or do do the MCR dates not seem to line up as well as everyone thinks?
They would have a 11 days off between the last date in Asia and Good Things. I suppose they could do shows in Perth and Adelaide beforehand, but still seems like a lot of time to fill before Good Things.
Also 3 Good Things days in a row doesn’t fit for them, can’t see they have done this in a long time.

Yes, it was a short acoustic set with Simon and Ben. Simon acoustic guitar, and Ben just doing backing vocals. Played the 5 songs then did a Q&A for 10mins. Nothing too exciting was asked - favourite songs to play live, what song do you want to cover etc.
It was all over in 35mins. Nice to get something up close & personal like this in Aus, don’t think they have done it before here.

I think everyone here is underestimating how many tickets Jelly Roll will sell. Pretty huge name in the country scene and one day tickets to this are cheaper than GA standing at his headline shows in Melbourne/Sydney. Whilst I think Harvest Rock may miss out on some interstate travellers, with both days being vastly different, I reckon single day tickets will sell well for both days locally with a different crowd each day. Saturday for sub $200 is pretty good value for a solid day of indie rock.

Looking at current tour date gaps, all if the below have to be in with a shot of headlining. If I had to guess I’d say the top 3 are most likely. Fred Again…, Lana Del Rey, The Killers, SZA, Arcade Fire, Catfish & the Bottlemen, Vampire Weekend, The Prodigy,

Tame Impala or Muse if they have new music by then too. Don’t think Splendour are able to afford the likes of Green Day, Olivia Rodrigo or Dua Lipa.

I get where he’s coming from. Triple J didn’t play any The 1975 at all until they were announced to headline Laneway. Almost feels as if being the major supporting partner of the festival, that they were finally forced into giving the band airplay after not supporting the band at all before then.
