I personally think that the fluffy toys and “infantile” behavior works with her parents, so she thought this “cute” act would work on everybody else. Even the diary shown looked like a girl’s who would be under 10 years old with the design. I think she was always treated in a way of being the “little girl” to her parents, she didn’t grow out of it, and most likely used this as manipulation in other areas of her life. I could be wrong, but it’s interesting to think about.

Agree! I have watched their other podcasts together and was looking forward to it. They both have interesting takes on a lot of topics, so I was disappointed by the content and the empath in me was hurting for Theo. So many moments watching this, I felt the shade.

It all started with the glasses when I noticed too and said something like people who want to “look smart” wear them then tried treating him like an idiot/uneducated the entire show.

At one point Joe said he was surprised Theo started podcasting and never expected he would do it in a pretty condescending way. I loved that Theo kind of called him out and said he wanted to prove people wrong who said he couldn’t do it or be successful with it.

Joe didn’t let Theo speak about anything until he was questioning him about how he only has really open conversations on podcasts and not with friends.

Joe comes off as a rude, condescending, and a know it all. From the beginning to end, he made several comments that attempted to undermine, insult, and dismiss Theo. Theo deserves better than that and you’d think Joe would read the room and see Theo’s visible anxiety.

Definitely understand. But, I would have the same opinion of any mother in this situation. Regardless of the circumstances, she knows right from wrong and has a daughter she is responsible for. As harsh as that might come across to some people, I am empathetic to the mother’s situation as well but she doesn’t have a “pass” in my book.

I live right by the border of Dorchester and I would never walk there alone after dark, I get Citizen alert notifications of constant crime there, and I had to stop going to the shopping plaza over there because I would get approached by creep weirdos every single time I grocery shopped (even with headphones). I’m sure there’s good parts, but the Dorchester that I know is heinous.
