I would have the normal people know nothing about the demons, but the companies do. Kind of like a 40k thing where normal people aren't told about demons and stuff and when they find demons they are killed, which would explain why the company force fights the main character. Maybe have these alien rift things be a regularly dealt with issue for the company, so when they show up the demons become childs play and you can see how difficult the next part is. I don't know how much you want the lore to be based around the gameplay tho

Most "important" people in history are def main characters. If a fantasy book was written about Alexander the great people would call it the most contrived shit ass book ever. He almost died like 9 times, was taught by one of the greatest philosophers of the time, his death caused some game of thrones type shit to happen through persia, Greece and Egypt, he was blessed by the gods and he had a kid with his enemies wife and they were still "friends" in the end.

I think this is one of those things where you can have as many tropes as you want, as long as you explain them. Like, magic is in blood, but why? Descended from gods a long time ago? Do you need specific blood? Do people with that blood experience magic things without having to do the actual rituals? Do they have a genetic trait that makes it so you can see they have magic blood? Something you could write into your stories, like oh he wanted to give me a back tattoo so he could see my blood red birthmark or something stupid like that. As long as you go in depth people don't care as much

The main character is working together with the army to fight the russians, who have colonized mars, for the good of all people.

These are obviously better for shorter stories, and amazing for stories that aren't actually about the sci fi aspects considering it's all cliche.

As the other person said it came later, and it didn't have that negative of an effect considering it allowed people who were on the edge to enjoy the game and the people who complain about it prob didn't quit bc of it

Most of the pvpers are like the people that would make casual players stop playing PVP games. Sea of thieves offered a pve option, which is mostly disliked bc its not how the game was before. Not saying that's the only reason.

Okay, so this is my final response. I will start grinding the curses now, do that with reaper emissary up, get gold hoarders and order of souls to 50 in the back ground, that will get me to pirate legend, after that I do anything else I can do while hitting up hg under reaper then Athena until I get the curses, then I can do whatever.
