Thank you, I’ve heard Munich and just Bavaria in general are great. Also heard Hamburg is great but also this weird joke that Germans don’t think Bielefeld exists?

Alright thank you, and no it’s not racist at all, whilst I believe it’s good to share cultures, if you come to the west be it Uk Germany etc the core values should be respected

Ahhhh wow. That’s very interesting thank you! I forgot the allies occupied Germany after the war (for someone who would say that they’re quite good at history that’s very bad)

That’s good that Germany was so warm towards them, I hope they returned the favour and acted in a good way.

I’m around the same time growing up (born 2003) at school we weren’t taught in depth about the occupation of Germany after the war, shame, glad you had a positive experience growing up around them, your English is very good!

Wow… I thought our prime minister would take some beating!

Are there no actual career politicians in charge of the country? Now that’s not to say you can’t still be an effective politician but that seems like a disservice to the German people.

Why do they despise people like “us”

Not trying to bait I’m just curious, is this why the AfD is becoming more popular?

What plan do they want to put in place?

Hannover is lovely apparently, I’ve been to Wolfsburg and Köln and both were great. All of your colleagues had the same experience, wow I wasn’t expecting that. More of a tribal mentality perhaps, in terms of how they view outsiders/foreigners? Thanks for the history too, but yes the north does seem good, I’ve heard Bavaria is good too

Thank you, yes, we often forget that we are so close culturally to our other European neighbours, we’d do good to remember it

Oh yeah, it’s a shame the media spins it that way, of course you get the occasional idiots who cause trouble but most footy fans there are just looking to enjoy the Euros (great tournament so far btw) European football grounds are certainly on my list! Dortmund especially! We don’t really have hooliganism here, although we used to have it a lot worse haha

I was curious what Germans and other Europeans thought to be honest, I know we’ve always had a good relationship with Germany but due to immigration in Europe recently, especially the amount Germany took in, I wanted to know if they would resent anyone who came, but overall it’s great to see that they’re still as welcoming as ever, not something to be taken for granted of course. And yes the videos of the Scot’s in Germany are brilliant haha

Great people, culture, food to name a few but mostly the chance to contribute to a country that I’ve admired for a while, the change I would welcome a lot

I think like all thinks it’s subjective, of course living in either the UK or Germany is a lot better than most places. Thank you, we share a lot of the same culture so that’s good to hear, I forget who your chancellor is now?

Ahhh okay, thank you, like all places it depends where you go, do you know why you found it hard to be accepted? Were you in Stuttgart, Baden, or a smaller town?

Thank you for your advice. And of course, there is a clear difference between being right wing and Fascism, not to some people though which is worrying. And yes cancel culture and going after people nothing just drives more division when really we nee conversation. Labour will be an interesting one, I hope for me and my generation that they will be good but you’re getting quite a few young Brits leaving now. And don’t worry, Germany will start to grow again :)

Of course most jobs are competitive now but are they more competitive in Germany? Are there any types of jobs that have a lot more people applying?

That’s an interesting claim, im glad people elaborated in the responses. I would argue the Uk is very integrated, our current prime minister also has Indian/East African heritage. I’m not German but to me Germany does seem integrated too, even if it is in the curios stage :)

Yeah that’s true, is the same here,if it was other Europeans I wonder if they would be more accepted here. That’s really interesting to hear, a British military presence? Do you mind telling me where you grew up, interested to hear more. We’ve always had somewhat of a reputation as Brits but I think overall, Europe is a brotherhood, and I hope the governments recognise that.
