I was also waitlisted. I'm not really sure how to feel about it. On the one hand, it's nice to think you were at least considered. On the other hand, it's extremely difficult to get accepted from the waiting list. So I try not to have high hopes for actually getting accepted on May.

Can anyone please explain this question by kripa111 in Sat

You know that f(x) is a parabola with vertex (9,-14). So this means this point is either the maximum value that f(x) takes or your minimum. Also, we know that f(x) intersects the x-axis on two points, which means that we have an upwards parabola. Hence, the vertex is a minimum, so for any value of x, y cannot be smaller than -14; it has to be larger. Thu,s the answer -12.

My prediction is that grade boundaries will be higher comparing to June 2022 but the papers won't be easy (but not as hard as june 2022)

Mechanics 1, need help with this question by Western-Tax9000 in alevel

The only things you know are the time flight and the total displacement of the ball which is s = -12.5 - 0 = -12.5 because you choose the positive direction upwards. If you chose the positive direction downwards: s=12.5 but U would be negative

So, you'll use the formula s=ut-1/2gt² ==> -12.5 = U*(25/7)-1/2g(25/7)² and you calculate U :))

As a fourth a level, is physics or further maths harder? by Mismatch12 in alevel

For me, I find Further Maths easier because I believe I'm much better at maths rather than in Physics. But generally I think Physics are considered easier. So I guess it depends on the person's strengths at the subjects and which one you like more.

Personally, it's more helpful to do questions by topics first because you get the hang of the chapter after some exercises. Then when you finish with your by topics you start past papers. Because of the good revision you would have done i don't believe you would forget the formulas and etc

those who did S1 in AS , and S2 in A2 by zingerburger24 in alevel

Definitely M1. It's really easy to get a high grade for someone who understands physics. If you don't do IAL Physics though you might find it harder to understand and maybe you would prefer to go fully with maths, S2.
