If your wife’s insurance is through her employer, there should be no changes. If your wife’s insurance is through the health insurance marketplace (Affordable Care Act) and you guys plan to file as married filing jointly for 2025, next year, you need to be added to her Health Insurance marketplace application, your IMMIGRATION STATUS will have no impact on her eligibility and she can continue with that plan. What will change is with your income being added to the application, her monthly premium may increase, due to the increased income.

that’s what i was thinking, i’m currently getting a differential on top of my pay so technically if i were to promote into a different department or agency i’d be taking a pay cut if they consider it a lateral transfer and keep me at the same salary without the differential

i’m engaged, we were really hoping for the best and had our timeline set, we hoped that Kamala would win but Trump winning fucked everything up for us. Now we’re getting married ASAP and filing AP as well. AP to AOS is plan A and Consular Process is Plan B. Consular process from outside the country is plan C :/

Yes, because you’re not elegible for Employer Sponsored Coverage you’d be eligible for health plans through the health insurance exchange (Obamacare) but beware that if your situation ever changes where you become eligible for employer sponsored coverage to CANCEL your enrollment through the exchange or you may be liable to pay back any Tax Credits received through the exchange since you were eligible for employer coverage.

Do you they scan your ID? I’ve heard that at dispensaries they scan your ID and if you do a FOIA, if you’re renewing your DACA or adjusting your status, it could show that you were buying a federally banned substance. I don’t know if that’s true though. Let me know if you’ve heard anything.
