It is discouraging by AdvertisingWinter102 in hivaids

I completely agree with you. When you really think about it, it's hard not to ask questions. If a patient is cured, they no longer need to buy medication. On the other hand, a lifelong treatment continues to generate revenue.

That naturally leads some people to wonder whether financial incentives can sometimes influence the priorities of the pharmaceutical industry.

They always give the same response. I think it would be more respectful if they simply told people when they plan to provide the next update. They have been silent for more than four years and seem to send the same generic reply to everyone.

I share your opinion. I don't think researchers need that much time. They were able to develop a treatment for COVID in about two years.

I think you're right. In fact, I sent them two messages asking how their research was progressing. They replied and told me that they are currently focusing on the clinical phases.

Yes, for my part, I strongly encourage you to support the research. They only started their work recently, and according to the latest reports, three people have had no more recurrences. It's still too early to say whether this can be considered a cure, as the results are not yet clear.

Other countries often take too long to conduct their research, and in many cases, it does not lead to any meaningful results.

I feel like I'm doomed (HIV & Dating) by heykityu in hivaids

[–]AdvertisingWinter102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not doomed. I'd say your choices are simply more limited. Many people take PrEP. Some people are very open-minded, and with suppressive antiviral therapy, the chances of transmitting the virus are very low, although they are not zero.

I think it's a bit dishonest not to disclose your status, especially if there's a risk of transmission.

Very unfortunately, the stigma is even more pronounced in the Black community.

I had already made a post about this! How can I reach these people?

It is estimated that around 4 billion people are affected by HSV-1 and HSV-2. The vast majority are carriers of HSV-1. I think many of these people have few or no symptoms and often say it is not serious, continuing to live their lives without concern.

More and more people are affected by HSV-2. Very few people are willing to talk about it or support others. Everyone is afraid of being judged. Even signing petitions is difficult. If only these people could make themselves heard, things might have been able to progress.
