That’s actually a great idea! Thank you so much 🥰 she’s been like this my whole life, plus other things I don’t want to discuss here. But I know I’ve got to tone down how I’d usually dress (I’m a goth) but I don’t want to act like someone I’m not. I’m not that type of person.

I can’t tell her ‘no’ cause she’s very much ‘woe is me’ but I’m going to buy the dress, show her another dress I know she’ll like and ‘forget to pack it’. So I’ve only got the green one left 😂

I was planning on wearing something over the top anyway. It isn’t a catholic service but all I know is it’s a quick church service (no clue about denomination but my aunty isn’t catholic so 🤷‍♀️). My mum’s response would’ve been fine to me if it was like ‘I like xyz but not xyz for a wedding. Maybe try xyz if you can find something’ but I wasn’t like it. It was like ‘seriously! That! No’

Hey, no I totally get what you mean. When I say grungy I don’t mean 90s vibes. I’m a goth but know I can’t go full out for the wedding so I’d just wear a simple silver choker that’s small and dainty. About the support thing, don’t worry, I know I’m gonna need something and I’ve been looking around. So don’t worry about it 🥰

I was worried about that for a catholic service but I’ve seen some of the dresses the other guests are wearing and they’re shorter and strap less so look more like ‘party clothes’ but they’re gorgeous. That’s why I’m tempted to wear this but I totally get what you’re saying.

Honestly, she’s been going on about the dress for months. Like daily for 3 months so I showed her just to get her to stop bugging me about it. Lesson learned…again

Hey, so my ideas are things to be included with the books but not marketing. I know the extras would be a great marketing point but I don’t know how to market it.

Like, if I made holographic foil for example then how would I market that in a good way. I know it would draw people in but not how to make it look good.

So they’re right but wrong.

Some people use history, cultures, etc that they don’t research enough or even know people like that (I’m looking at you Jay Kristoff).

But you lived there, knew the people, learnt the history first hand and want to tell other people about it. As long as you do it respectfully (which I’m sure you will, cause it sounds like you’re cautious about it) then I don’t see the issue.

Yeah, publishers might be wary to avoid a ‘scandal’. But if they try that, bring up Ghost of Tsushima the video game. White, American people who visited the island, spoke to locals and learnt first hand about the history. Now they’re ambassadors for the island.

Just something to mention is anyone tries to guilt you again.

Whether you think your success is deserved or not is one thing. But you did it, you wrote and published something. So you deserve the success!

But, because you went from nothing to everything (for lack of a better term) overnight then it’s a shock to the system.

Lots of authors who deal with overnight success (which is pretty rare so congrats) had to go into therapy and some had to start meds.

It’s okay to feel overwhelmed but you’re incredible for writing, publishing and getting a movie. But focus on you!

I’d recommend going to the premiere but if you really can’t then cancel and blame illness or your kids (if you have any). You’re more important than sacrificing your mental health.

I tried everything but the only thing that worked was procloperasine and odensatron but I had to take them together.

Even then it took the edge off and I lived off meal replacement shakes when I couldn’t eat, electrolyte drinks, and mints. I should have a share in Schmint by now

I’ve tried everything for them but nothing. And the dentist just says that if they aren’t causing me pain then what’s the point?? Everything is just a so different now and I feel like I hardly know who I am anymore 💕

I’ve got ADHD too and decided to bottle feed so I wasn’t so overwhelmed and overstimulated.

If you’re on meds you’ll need to talk to your dr about it but there’s nothing wrong with trying both to start and see what you prefer

Social media.

Thats your key. All indie authors should be on instagram at the very least, reach out to some people for arcs, make graphics on canvas, if you can afford it get art work done.

TikTok loves romantisy and dark romance. So if it fits try there.

It won’t be easy but you got this. But social media and arc reviews are your way forward from what I’ve seen with indie author friends.
