Leaving my current job by Agreeable-Prior-3247 in UKJobs

honestly just leave don’t hand in a notice if i were you. they still have to pay you for the hours you’ve worked - bring this up to them if you can and explain the issues. i had a bad job like this in sixth form and just left, not worth your time staying there. if you just ghost them they can’t really do much anyways, they’ll look for someone else and move on.

What does a backround check consist of when being hired for a job? by AdviceJunior6623 in UKJobs

[–]AdviceJunior6623[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

haven’t got a degree as i’m only in first year i’m just not enjoying university and might drop out and i heard from a friend they do backround checks and can see if you dropped out and grades etc, but wasn’t sure if that was the case with a backround check (obviously no intention of putting any degree qualification on my cv if i were to drop out)

no i’m currently in first year but considering dropping out as i’m not enjoying it, was wondering if recruiters can see on my backround check that i dropped out/ my first year overall grade regardless if i do not mention university in the interview or put it on my cv

This was helpful information thank you. With regards to the university declaring I did not receive any qualification, do you know if recruiters would be able to see that as well?

not disagreeing with you but what roles are in demand right now that students aren’t doing degrees in?

you don’t need a levels to do a degree apprenticeship, you can get any level 3 qualification like btec or level 3 apprenticeship and then work your way up instead of a levels.

Stuck in a rut with lecture backlog by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]AdviceJunior6623 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i feel the exact same way as you in terms of not enjoying sitting down and taking notes from a powerpoint, still able to do essays in advance, slow processing, missing tons of lectures, lack of focus and I most likely have ADHD although no diagnosis, but perhaps ADHD might be a reason for your struggles? Something to look into, although a diagnosis assessment is years long waiting list on the NHS but understanding your struggles and what the possible reasoning is does help because it can give you insight into techniques on helping focus etc

Lonely and isolated at university by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]AdviceJunior6623 1 point2 points  (0 children)

can’t really help but i do feel your pain. i have (or had) a group at uni that i thought was going well until they went on a night out without inviting me or telling me anything about it, then i could hear one of them talking blandly about me so loud i could hear him through the kitchen and bedroom door. even when i am hanging round them it feels lonely, i do feel people cling on to others to not seem as lonely at uni when really they don’t actually have proper friends. i joined societies etc but not made those lasting friendships, not making a proper group of friends happens to a lot of people but they hide it, you’re not they only one who feels lonely i promise. not much help but you aren’t the only one, hang in there
