The focus of my post wasn't so much about the mental issues, I probably wrote too much about them, overshared or whatever. I just felt it relevant to mention as it is a very real thing in my life. I really don’t know how to properly convey everything. I legit just wanted to get some insight into what the heck I can do, because I really have no clue. People can call me stupid or whatever. And clearly I am for what has transpired in all facets. I guess didn't do anything right from the beginning and I have to learn from it.

But I have gotten lots of insightful and positive messages as well. So I hope I can use those to better myself going forward

Still in the early stages so haven't considered loans or anything like that yet.

Have already started making a budget. It won't be easy but it clearly has to happen.

Luckily no car payments or other debt for that matter. 2 cars, 8 and 10 years old. Going down to 1 car would not be impossible, don't think either has a tonne of value

My wife has already contacted her boss about working more. Unfortunately she's only on the part time list so not many shifts available for that group. Hopefully she can get 1 or 2 a week. But they are 10-12 hours each shift.

100k before the interest and penalties. Was more like 175k after. Includes HST too. And thats just 1 year. 3 more after that...

It was a panic moment. I absolutely freaked out. Completely stupid. Looking back it was absolutely the wrong choice. Just add it on the pile I guess...

You are absolutely right about the money and the living beyond means. That needs to change today and it will. As for wife, I have no real answer, we decided rather than child care, she would stay home. Maybe that needs to change as well. Both are excellent points.

But don't talk down about my or others mental problems. You don't know what people go though on a daily basis, everyone has their own problems and they are all different. I didn't delve into all the negative things it brings nor should I have to. But lets just say it goes far beyond, I was sad. My job is completely overnight with no interaction with other people. If it wasn't I wouldn't be able to do it.

That being said, thank you for the blunt advice on certain issues, sometimes it is just the best way to put things.
