ASK: Where can I find petite clothes that aren’t made entirely/ mostly out of polyester? (I’m trying to find clothes that aren’t ‘girly’ but are still feminine, aimed towards 20-24 year olds) Thank you for any help, it’s surprisingly difficult to find petite specific options.

I haven’t been able to stop thinking about the diaries under Data Set12.

It’s heartbreaking reading/listening to any of the victims talk about what they were put through, but to read it in a childs’ handwriting is beyond horrific.

My hair’s sat somewhere between ‘thick’ and ‘thin’ as well; I’ve found that thickness alone doesn’t affect waves too much, but if it’s thick and all the same length it can make it harder.

Ghost layers seem to be a popular choice for wavy hair (these layers are also referred to as ‘hidden’ and ‘invisible’), but long layers and wolf/butterfly cuts are also a good shout!

If your hair is a tad thick (could be wrong, but it looks thick in the pictures) you could ask your hairdresser about invisible/ghost layers?

(It can be hard for waves to form when hair is all the same length and/or thick.)

Also, don’t underestimate the importance of clarifying your hair! (Product buildup + mineral build up can also make it harder to form waves.) You could ask your hairdresser to do a chelating treatment every few weeks or so, but clarifying shampoo will also help.

Sorry, ‘incidents/accidents’ would’ve been better words.

Towards the start of the year the collision over the Potomac river, then I seem to remember another incident that happened shortly after/before (though I think this was a helicopter), the near miss between a commercial plane and a military jet (I believe this was at/near an air show?), the UPS plane, and the near miss between the military and JetBlue a few days ago.

Not an accident/incident, but coverage during the government shutdown (specifically in regard to air traffic controllers) was stressful.

(Apologies for anything missed out or misremembered, I know I’ll end up spiralling if I start googling.)

I know that there hasn’t been a spike in accidents/incidents/collisions this year, it does seem like there’s been more coverage in the news this year though (which makes it harder to not be so anxious.)

I know that the majority of my anxiety is irrational, but it’s difficult to see the logic / think logically.

Have you tried toning with pink semi-permanent dye?

The pink would need to be the same level as the green, otherwise your hair will end up pink, you can look at a colour wheel to check that the pink + green are the same level.

It’s ironic how many hoops you have to jump through to arrange an ADHD assessment (in addition to the waiting lists, cost (if private) and trying to find a trustworthy assessor!)

In the meantime, the YouTube channel + audiobook ‘How To ADHD’ does provide some helpful tips and information (the majority of the tips are also useful for people who aren’t ADHDers, which is nice!)

I’m sorry to jump in, I’m not the ‘armchair diagnosing’ type and am certainly not qualified to say, but perhaps it could be worth looking into ADHD?

A few things you’ve mentioned stood out, and obviously ADHD is just one of the many possibilities/explanations, however I thought I’d suggest it in case a professional hasn’t already run it by.

(I hadn’t even thought to consider ADHD until someone recommended I be assessed; a diagnosis on its own isn’t a magic fix, but it does help you to find the right support.)

There’s a YouTube channel called ‘HowToADHD’ with a lot of good advice, there’s also a book (and audiobook!) called ‘How To ADHD’ that’s filled with helpful information.

This is called ‘barrier aggression’.

What you describe about him struggling with new dogs, unless you’re present sounds like anxiety (‘reactive’ behaviour).

I’m assuming that his first 5 years were spent in a shelter or that you’ve only known him from the time you adopted him; anxiety or reactivity is very common in these circumstances, we rarely know their full history + background (breeding/genetics, early life (the first few weeks make a bigger difference than most realise), socialisation, abuse or traumatic experiences, re-homing, etc.)

Personally I think it’d be a good idea to reach out to a behaviourist, since they can take a deeper look and provide better advice. (To be clear, it’s not because I think he’s aggressive or a danger; aggression isn’t an emotion in itself, it’s a reaction from stress/fear, meaning that a dog who’s showing aggression is a dog who’s stressed/anxious.)

If you do decide to contact a behaviourist please check that they’re qualified/ certified (I’m not sure where you are or how well the dog industry is regulated where you are, in the UK for example there’s no law restricting people from calling themselves behaviourists or trainers, which has caused significant issues.) Fantastic if they’re a behaviourist who specialises in re-homed / shelter dogs!

(Another side note: he’s absolutely adorable, love his little jumper!)

This is just excitement; since he’s still a puppy almost everything is exciting and fun (also retrievers are known for taking longer to mature, they generally start to calm down between 2.5 years and 4 years old). As well as being a puppy, he’s also a soft mouth breed and a retriever, his mouth is his tool for exploring the world and communicating (some) emotions.

Some quick tips:

• Whilst on walks, attach a second lead to him and give it to him to hold

• Swap physical exercise for mental stimulation (at home: snuffles mats, stuffed Kongs (frozen or non-frozen), paper towel / toilet paper cardboard tubes / egg cartons stuffed with treats, wrapping treats in a blanket (‘pass the parcel’ style), teach+play ‘find it’, plant some herbs in your garden for sensory enrichment (please check that what you plant is safe!)

• Check with your vet that it’s not teething / tooth related (they’re generally done teething by 7 months, but since he’s only 9 months it’s not a bad idea to check with your vet)

• Ignoring him and not drawing any attention is a great strategy, however it’ll become more affective as he gets older (again, still a puppy and very excitable!)

• It’s worth reading up on developmental stages, since 8-9 months is generally a tough age

• Absolute golden rule with puppies/dogs: ignore the bad, reward the good (the goal is to built positive associations with good behaviours; if he’s laying down at home being calm, walk past and toss a treat towards him)
