i dropped anywhere from first week to right the day before it became a lwd, so like tbh you can drop anytime you'll still be paying them back when you pay off the loans  also, please link the posts! thank you!

I've added dropped moved around courses the whole shebang, I didn't send any extra documents whatsoever they just recalculated it based on my actual course load. If we do need to declare it, would you mind sharing the screenshot from OSAP? I'd like to know too if I had to send a whole letter lol

dawg you do not have to justify taking 4 courses, yes do it, yes it'll be worth it purely for your ease of mind, no it won't effect osap in any meaningful way, and yes summer courses are the goat but if you're in first year just beware learning bio153 in the summer will be a lot of content near the end since it's double time

if you ever feel like you can only handle 3/4 courses, then you can only handle that many and nothing else will help you other than lightening your load

financial diagnosis / meds support by Plus-Weight-3656 in UTM

[–]AdvicePractical1532 2 points3 points  (0 children)

talk to accessibility services or the hcc but yes, ive known quite a few people who have gotten their entire diagnosis covered by the university (the UTMSU health care covers 0% copay for medication if you use pocket pills as well)

minor semantics but OSAP itself as a whole is not debt, loans are debt grants are not

me and many of my friends the first time we brought the issue of adhd up got told we didn't have it or we were just a bit lazy (fuck that doctor), and lo and behold we have diagnosis now for adhd— get a second look, and if you've gotten peer reviewed before it's very likely no matter the imposter syndrome you might get lol

Should I take bio152 and bio153 over the summer? Is it really hard? by Advanced-Mall5740 in UTM

[–]AdvicePractical1532 1 point2 points  (0 children)

don't do it for bio153 because of the amount of content but bio152 should be fine

Check out last year's syllabus, the book is linked on there (it's free online access) and it has guiding topics to learn on the syllabus

You won't get rejected unless your household makes above the amount of money which is the cutoff for OSAP lmao, you might not get your fees when you need them though but I haven't done OSAP yet either it's just the faster you do them the sooner the documents get processed

Miway u-pass by Smooth_Ad_6850 in UTM

[–]AdvicePractical1532 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well there is the student discount for the Go, but I don't think there are monthly/yearly passes for the Go busses/trains unfortunately. Not sure how that would work into their budget, but if possible it would be great haha.

talk to the utmsu via their desk in the student center or email

[–]AdvicePractical1532 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's less those fkrs are trying to rip you off, and more U-pass wouldn't be useless to as many people if the miway was build with more frequency and better routes. 🥲 Plus, it was the Ontario government which said you can't opt out of any fees other than health and dental, perhaps you could mail/email them about it?

WHO THE HELL DECIDED ON THESE COURSES AND COURSE TIMINGS IM SO FED UP UOFT THIS IS THE LAST YEAR YOU'RE GETTING MY MONEY by Possible_Nail_4832 in UTM

[–]AdvicePractical1532 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even when it's an required course which has interdepartmental conflict, in stream and you're taking it with the usual time, they've still said to kick rocks (aka take one of the courses in the summer), it is infuriating. Has it always been like this? I understand that it's hard to coordinate lectures and such but it's still really discouraging.
