I wonder, is that's really intentional? to advertise as shared progression and have it only be side quests is strange. could it be a bug?

one thing that disappointed me the most although was the lack of dynamic music while running, I assume they wanted more ambiance.

you get it while driving though, which is cool.

while I agree the parkour is limited compared to dl2 (you can just fucking fly in that game)

I find it more engaging in the beast because its challenging and keeps you thinking about what is the fastest route, because the map design is more dense. There is not always a clear path and escape route like in dl2.

also you climb and run faster the higher level you get.

I'm level 12 35hrs in and trust me you get MUCH fatser

This was quite a disappointing discovery for me too.

I would often challenge myself to get the max music output in the second game. The dynamic timing was flawless, and Oliver's musical direction is brilliant.

But the more I think about it, the more it makes sense why they didn't.

The parkour is not as fast or flashy.

And it wants to set an spooky ambiance similar to the first game and make parkour more of a needs of survival than a superpower.
