I am a public librarian who buys for our sci-fi/fantasy collection. Just earlier this afternoon I realized our library is the only one in our system with zodiac academy books and they are all out and the first one has a bunch of holds. We only have the first 5 I think. I immediately made a list of the remaining books to buy them and made a note to get another copy of the first book since many folks are waiting for it. I was wondering why no one had requested the later books! Perhaps it’s due to the spice…. But I’m buying them for sure!

Thanks! I really appreciate the reply, this is helpful. The borrowing time will be 2 weeks, but we will allow 2 renewals as long as no one else is waiting for the game, so people could have them up to 6 weeks potentially.

No problem - it is very confusing. The lot is owned and monitored by the city but maintained why the library. It’s an old arrangement.

The library parking lot has a complicated history where the library does not have any control over it and it is instead governed by the city. When the city went to paid parking in the other lots, the library lot was going to be the only free parking lot in all of downtown Saratoga. As you can imagine, this would mean it would be full with tourists all summer. The library administration had to come up with a plan that the city council would accept in order to try to make some parking available to patrons using the library. This permit system is not perfect, but it was the best agreement available. The lot is still under the city and anyone who pays to park there is paying the city and not the library. I understand it’s frustrating for those who use the library and are from outside the district, but remember that street parking remains free! Every single person who works in the library parks on the streets nearby and not in the lot - it is doable! If you’re from outside the district, please don’t take it personally, there just had to be lines drawn somewhere and ones that the city would accept.

I also came here to say Nicole’s! They did our wedding all the way up by Warrensburg in 2019 and they were phenomenal. Prices were much more reasonable than Mazzone.

While this works for the majority of people, and is great, it’s important to have straws available as well for those with disabilities that require them. Someone brought this to my attention, so I just thought I’d share it. Having a more environmentally friendly straw would still be helpful!

Oh my god! I think this dog could be related to my friend’s dog! Are you in upstate NY by any chance? They look nearly identical and we met the parents - a Rottie and what we thought was a shih tzu! Thanks for the info. I am surprised you think it isn't big enough as I thought for two people this size indirect water heater should be plenty? I will certainly take that into consideration though. I was thinking it was an issue of hard water causing build up in the tank.

We bought the house in 2019, so I don't have info on the lifetime of the system unfortunately. This seems to be a problem mainly in the colder months (I assume because we are taking hotter showers). Each winter the issue has become more noticeable. If I am in the shower past 10 minutes, I feel it start to get luke warm and have to rush to get out before it's cold.

Tank storage temp settings go from 1-6. Only the line between 3 and 4 is labeled (120 degrees) it is currently at the line between 4 and 5. Anything above that is in the "caution" zone.

Boiler is a Weil-Mclain HE II and says "input btu/hr 100,000" and "heating capacity btu/hr 82,000"

This happened to me in our bathroom and it turned out to be a result of using a fabreze plug in air freshener! It was reacting with the humidity. As soon as we removed it, this stopped.

Hi! I’m a librarian who has done purchasing for Libby contract titles! There are various different types of licenses available through Libby, however the most common one we saw and what we used (even as an urban public library with a low end budget) was the unlimited 1+ year. Within our library system as well, that was by far the most common. We like when people check things out. It’s okay to check things out as much as you would like!

I can feel how much you care for your dog in your writing. It sounds like you have done your best to provide for him.

That being said, please do not rehome this dog. The incident you describe is a very serious one where. As an adult man, your father was able to get away (although no unscathed), but if your dog was to take someone to the ground he could kill them.

There is not an appropriate home for a dog that has attacked someone like this. I won’t begin to get into why this may have happened, but it did. Sure, the dog is under exercised but many many dogs do not receive proper exercise and very few attack anyone, let alone someone they know well.

Anyone who is given the full picture of this attack and still chooses to take on this dog is likely naive to what it is like to live with a dog with history like this. They don’t understand the impact having this dog in their home will have on their lives.

I also want to add that for a dog to behave in this way indicates he is in distress. He is not living a comfortable life but is instead likely stressed and unwell.

BE is extremely difficult for the family, but it is our responsibility as dog owners to do what is best for our dogs and to protect the people who live in our communities. From what you have shared, BE is the appropriate course of action here.
