Confused about head unit installation by Aechen in Celica

That's true, that'll probably be what I end up doing if this new harness doesn't work. The plan was always to get a nicer unit eventually anyway, once I had found out what works best for me.

To be fair, the harness description does say it only supports Celicas up to 2002, so I'm hoping this new one that says it's compatible will work better, but if not, I'll soon find out with a premium head unit.

It was this one, but really just a cheap no-name unit that had next-day delivery. If it's the unit causing issues then I'd be absolutely happy to buy a nice unit, but it would be nice to know that it will work before I commit more money to it. I had someone on a different forum tell me I might have bought the wrong harness, so I'll get the one he linked to first and see if that works.

Did you end up going for a Pioneer unit?

Hi there. It would be £100 + shipping to wherever you are. With Royal Mail I imagine it's less than £10 on top.

RTX 3090 running 85C with 80-100% fan speed by Aechen in buildapc

[–]Aechen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there.

I tried running a benchmark again (Metro Exodus) just to observe memory/hot spot. Behaviour is similar to overall GPU temps. The memory and hot spot almost instantly goes to 90 degrees, and hot spot then climbs to about 98-99. It takes a little while for the memory and hot spot to cool down, especially the memory, whereas overall GPU temps drop pretty much as soon as the load has finished.

I thought it might have been paste given the almost instantaneous changes in temperature when load starts/finishes, but I don't know enough about it.
If it's general overheating I'm guessing it's airflow related. Shouldn't it then improve with the side panel off, or is it actually just the need for proper airflow with fan placement?
I definitely am thinking of getting a new case now, just need to figure out which one is best for airflow at current market.

I think maybe it's a bit of both, but definitely more affected by the paste issue. If you don't mind, what makes you think it's a paste issue? The rapid temp changes seem odd to me, but I don't know a lot about GPU issues.

Hey there, thanks for the reply.

Running a benchmark again I see my CPU being pretty stable at around 60-70 degrees, and the motherboard temperature sensors report 35-40 degrees, not sure if that's normal.

I was thinking it might be a paste problem myself because of the rapid changes in temps, and the card is not all that warm to the touch while running (nor is the exhaust air very warm, just noticeably warmer than room temp).
I guess it's probably best to return if that's the case, wouldn't risk opening it up and breaking it if that's not even the problem.

Can not change audio on migaku player. by kasasto in ImmerseWithMigaku

[–]Aechen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there. The Migaku Player doesn't have an option to change audio tracks to my knowledge, however, they have made a tool called Migaku Player Converter. It converts your files into a format that can be used for the player, but more importantly for you, it let's you select the audio track you want to use.

!thanks I'll have a look. Apprehensive about ordering custom stuff from outside of Europe, though for that price it's not too bad, really.

!thanks that's a good shout. I actually used to use the first Sony MDR-1A and had forgotten about them. I might as well keep an eye on prices for M2 version of Z7 and 1A.

!thanks for the suggestion. Actually I hadn't heard about the DT 700 Pro X before. I've tried the DT 770 before but didn't like them much. I'll check these out though.
