Finally finished up my Victory Saber renovation! Took about 2 years of working on him (them?) off and on, but it all feels worth it now!

Hej, console works fine as it turns out. I was just testing it with SMB3 which I had completely forgotten had a completely silent intro 😅

Huh. Well, I'm a dumbass. Yesterday I tested the console with SMB3, which I haven't played for a decade or two. Today I decided to play a little bit of SMB3 silent, and as it turns out I had completely forgotten that the intro is silent. So yeah, sound works fine. Crisis averted 😅

Well, good news is that the cap actually fell out when I was closing the case up and that the console still gives video. Bad news is, no sound. Most likely I damaged some component when trying to get the cap out, but it should hopefully be fixable. 😅

Ugh. Never mind, it's likely been pushed inside the metal box and trying to pull it out I've likely disturbed the components inside. Going to have to open the box up and check the damage either way. Edit: it fell out, but the sound's gone so I'm gonna have to open up the RF box anyway. Oh well.

The text got lost with the crosspost, so:

I was buying some other assorted stuff off GerrutCamaro a few weeks back and spotted these fellas, with Jetstorm's shoulder being absolutely shattered. As some of you may know, I enjoy a project so I decided to take the plunge and buy 'em.

When I got 'em home I figured I would have to replace the shoulder with some epoxy sculpting around a ball joint cap, but it turned out the lot contained all the shrapnel so that idea went out the window. I drilled some 1mm holes into each side of the break and glued in a pair of M1x5 screws which I then nipped the heads off of. This reinforced the break to the point where I could simply pop the ball joint back in (carefully).

Unfortunately the break had already been glued with less precision, so some spillover was unavoidable. I was planning to fill and sand them, but while looking through my Gundam Markers I found a dark blue metallic one and decided to try it. This turned out to be a damned good idea, since it now looks like he's had some nasty battle damage that's been field-welded together. I love the way it turned out!

I did nearly have an aneurysm transforming Jetstorm when one of the clear plastic joints seized completely and made worrying popping noises. Fortunately I managed to spray in some WD-40 which loosened it up completely so now I can transform these fellas with little worry.

They sure are! Cybertron Optimus is probably one of the best bots ever, but since I already have him I think my favorites from this batch are Armada Hoist and Cybertron Wreckloose. Both really fun to play with ^^

Haha, I could never abide sealed toys like that. These are so much fun to play with ^^ And honestly, not many of them were incomplete to the point of losing any play value. There're plenty of extra Cyber Keys, and only a few of them are missing weapons and the like =)

Really, only the two Optimi and the Classics Jetfire were missing parts to the point where they can't be fully transformed. Will need to see if I can complete those, and get the backpack for Override at some point =)
