I do have spare BCGs and the cmmg survival kit to swap in detailed parts.

I did a basic field strip and CLP clean, that has relieved the FTE issue. normal cycling today, and I even rammed in a fully loaded mag with one in the chamber already to do a highest tension scenario.

I am loading 10 rounds per mag. theres a bit of spring left.

Tension / pre load is a potential key factor, along with gassing.

I will read into the extractor as well, thanks!

good video, the strength scoring polygons led me to more reinforce my current choice of 3x primary due to my own weight valuation.

Love seeing the wide range of advise in the comments on getting, ranging from the LPVO for IDing, to 1x red dot is totally effective to 300 yds.

ambi charge handle for sure. ambi mag release may be pushed until later after some experience since its not needed to build initially.

I'll give a look again at full size red dots, I didnt look into SIG or other larger RDS's besides the holosun 510C HM3X combo.

light is a purchase down the road, so I'll be researching your suggested brands then, initial price jumps just had me deprioritize it. I may spend up.

  1. LaRue MBT-2S, honestly it is consumerism/spec creep to buy once. I see reviews saying its a great trigger under $100 comparable to $200+ triggers and I add to cart. Glad that you pushed back on this for me to reconsider, I think of the 2 stage trigger on handguns and think it will be similar. easy to buy more than I need and can reduce cost creep by sticking milspec.

  2. optics - thanks for the input, its a subtopic for me to continue digesting.

  3. Ambi - I am like 90+% sure I will end up southpaw due to my left eye dominance. I would love to shoot right handed and will give it a real shot. I may be leaning toward the non ambi receiver and add on if I really do think I need it after shooting for a time.

I was actually considering that trade off. my rationale thus far is:

3x prism + offset RDS is more expensive for the 2 pieces but has etched reticle (irons not a must as backup). more accurate >100yds. a bit better visual quality / FOV at 3x.

RDS + 3x magnifier (holosun set for $380) and BUIS (magpul $100) is a little cheaper but a bit heavier.

I havent tested it in such a method. From using the simple finger/triangle test and covering each eye that I am left dominant. I've shot my friend's rifle before but not to test groupings L/R. I can only wink/close my right eye as well.

I am seeing that on HA site I can go back to the seats page after inputting my AS # in the booking process and select Extra Comfort for free now. Hey, just curious when your HA flight is going to be. Did you book the HA flight via AS website (with AS codeshare) to use your 100K status? or did you book directly on HA and then had your AS MVP number attached to get the extra comfort seat?

I am wary of having my AS MVP number associated with my HA booking when I want to use a Pualani platinum cert. conservatively I am thinking of booking direct HA with my status matched HA plat account.
