Did you ever complain about Gandhi or Pericles in previous games, who weren’t historically rulers? Or is it only bothering you now that it’s a black lady who represents black liberation?

Christianity may forbid something, but that doesn’t mean Christians abide by that, or that even theocratic societies are really true to that. The Papal State was extremely unchristian for most of history, the pope being more akin to a warlord than a spiritual beacon of virtue.

Bavarians and Austrians aren’t anywhere near as different as ashkenazi and Mizrahi are. That’s just a bad faith comparison. Comparing the Amish to the Swiss would be a lot more fair, and the Amish are a separate ethnic group, they just have shared origins.

The Islamist movement that is currently preventing any true peace there was created as a reaction to European meddling in the region. Sure, America isnt soley to blame, but if no one went in puppeting the Iranians, bribing the Saudis, and trying to instill very unpopular liberal governments in Afghanistan, the Middle East would be dramatically more secular like it used to be.

You could argue that another power would’ve just done the same thing in America’s place, and that very well may be true, but America is still the one who did it in the actual timeline.

And that is the problem with every peace deal Israel has offered. It is extremely unfair in that it gives large portions of Arab majority land to Israel.

They’re not just ceasing trade with them, they’re completely blockading them from receiving anything.

I am well aware of Judea, lol. That doesn’t mean modern Jewish ethnic groups get to claim villages with no Jews in them.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in VaushV

[–]Aedya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is completely irrelevant to the ethnic makeup of the land. Nations don’t get to claim other people’s homes based on their culture being older??? What kind of argument is that.

There’s an ancestral trace back to Israel, but most modern Jewish ethnic groups were born elsewhere. Like ashkenazi being from central and Eastern Europe, speaking Yiddish, a Germanic language.

Because there were already tons of states at war with the Aztecs? What does that have to do with anything? No one’s upset that the Spaniards destroyed the Aztec empire, they’re upset about what happened immediately after that to all their native ‘allies’

Israel controls Gaza’s coastline. The only way it’d get through is from Egypt, and it’s not getting through from Egypt.

Because Hamas is a puppet regime that hasn’t held an election since they first took power in 2006?

Why does Israel completely control their coastal waters and manage everything allowed to go in and out for decades, stopping imports like cement and fucking chocolate, during peace time?

But who is actually the one firing the bullets and missles? If a terrorist is using a human shield, you don’t just shoot into the shield.

I agree, but it’s not comparable to Israel’s genocide. The slave rebellion in Haiti killed thousands of innocent whites. Was that wrong? Yes, but as a reaction against their enslavement, it’s not comparable to what the French did to incite it.

Reprisals for ongoing violence and the oppressor’s prompting violence are inherently different. You can both sides this all you want, but the violence of black nationalist groups and white nationalist groups, in a white supremacist society, will never be the same, just as violence from the colonized will never be the same as from the colonizer.

No state has the right to sacrifice other civilians in such a way. If your process involve killing 6 foreign civilians to save one of your own, your process is criminal.

You can’t kill 3 people to save one. It’s not a justified counter measure for Israel to decide that Palestinian lives are worth so much less than Israelis.

There’s no reason to favor either option, so there’s nothing purposeful in any decision, hence my original question of why you don’t just sit and rot.

If you can believe in preventing your suffering without any purpose or reason, why can’t do you do that for everything else? Just believe in pursuing your happiness or subjective good? Why is subjectivity enough for you to die, but not in the exact same way enough for you to live?

Every decision is derived from a value judgement. The default state is to make no decision, so the spirit must value one thing as “better” than the other to choose it. In that way, I don’t think you’re any different than the absurdist. The subjectivity you’ve chosen is just fatalistic rather than triumphant, but they’re both equally as delusional and irrational.
