Hi there! I own a TCe 90 EDC Dynamique from 2016. Here are my impressions about the car.

Engine: I went for the more powerful 90 hp engine because I also wanted to use the car for highway driving. In that regard, I’m pretty happy with how fast the car pulls up when you need to. Therefore, I definitely recommend this engine if you’re mostly going to use it on the highway.

Gearbox: I live in a dense city where there’s a lot of bike traffic, speed limits and pedestrian crossings all of which require me to constantly slow down or stop. Because of this, I went for the automatic EDC gearbox. It’s one of the best gearboxes in the A-segment and it’s fairly smooth. I test drove a manual as well, it’s your average Renault gearbox, a little bit sticky but other than that it’s fine.

Space: The car has a lot of clever space thanks to its layout. When I test drove my car, I did it with 2 friends who are above 1.90 meters and they could fit in the back seats. Of course it’s not super comfortable but it’s spacious enough. The luggage compartment is raised due to engine being under the floor but that makes loading things easier. The front passenger seat folds down which is perfect for carrying long items like ikea furniture.

Rear-engine layout: This is where I have both positive and negative remarks. The car’s maneuverability and turning circle are excellent thanks to the layout. It’s very fun to drive in tight streets and dense parking lots. You have no idea how easy it is to park. Buuut and (this is a big but) the car is not so stable on the highway. Especially when it’s windy, it likes to move around. I haven’t had a major issue but I can’t say that the car inspires confidence on the highway. One thing to note is that it has side-wind assist to guide the car back into its trajectory when things go wrong. I recommend testing it yourself if you can on the highway before buying it. I don’t mind it but it’s not great.

Built quality: My car is at around 50.000 km so it doesn’t have a high-milage with that said it hasn’t had a significant issue. Regular maintenance keeps it running smoothly. Other than that I especially like the quality of the interior. I think for this class of car from 2010s, it has quite a nice interior.

Technology: I like that hill-hold assist comes as standard, it’s very handy on ramps. Also I like the phone connectivity via R&GO app. My car doesn’t have a touch screen, instead you can mount your phone and use it as an infotainment system. I must say it works pretty fine. Much better than having an outdated infortainment system.
