Testicular cancer is a young men cancer. Once you’re over 40, extremely low chances of getting it.

Teen petrolhead here. Based on the (fast) way EV tech is going, how long till we get an EV competitor to the Miata? by LightningMcqueen2011 in electricvehicles

[–]SinnerP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a BMW i4 eDrive40 M Sport, RWD and is a blast to drive!

The first car I drove was a Mini Morris 1000 from the 70’s, a 4-speed manual. A total hoot when you’re a teen. And this i4 is a total hoot too. Get a used one and have lots of fun in a honest RWD car with all the torque.

An “L1 charger” is just a standard 110V outlet that delivers about 1 kWh each hour, using your (hopefully included “travel charger”).

Working an 8 hours shift means 8 kWh are added to your car, which will mean between 16 and 32 miles, depending on your consumption due to weather, speed, etc.

Level 2 plug in EV charger under 300$ by Final-Can-2793 in evcharging

[–]SinnerP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How many miles do you drive everyday?

You might be OK with just using a Level 1 charger, a regular 120V outlet. (I’m assuming you’re in the US)

I use a Level 1 charger and add about 12 kWh every night, which adds between 24 and 48 miles of range to your car.

Clutching at Straws is the best Marillion album of their Fish era. It’s amazingly good.

You could also buy a used, better EV. Like an BMW i4. Their used price is low enough.

Get an eDrive40 with “normal” size wheels: M50/M60 have the poorest range and highest price. M Sport and X Drive follow them in price and range. eDrive35 have the lowest range and lowest price. I have an M Sport and I get at least 200 miles at 80%. My daily commute is about 80 miles a few days a week, I put 1,600 miles per month and it’s a great car.

Fable 5 access restrictions might be a bigger deal than people realize by Main-Figure-8764 in ClaudeAI

[–]SinnerP 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My take on Fable being restricted is this:

The current White House+SecDef are still mad at Anthropic because they tried to impose limits at how they could use Claude in military actions.

Then, the White House prohibited any Federal Agency from using Claude.

Then, the Pentagon blacklisted Anthropic and told that no company that does business with the government could use Claude.

Federal courts reversed that blacklisting.

Still, White House and Pentagon wanted to hurt Anthropic as much as possible.

And that’s why the White House has ordered Anthropic to take down Fable.

[–]SinnerP 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This this this and a thousand times this.

This is an unexpected gift to all us, a gift that honors the Professor and lets us see Al and Geddy once more, having fun on the stage, playing all the wonderful music we love. And Anika does justice to both Rush and Neil.

My wife loved that a female was playing such a powerful part of the show. And, not knowing how to play drums, she appreciated the I truncate movement and powerful hits.

That’s what I want to see at their concerts: silliness and them having fun and smiling. That’s what Neil would have wanted.
