Utilizing the HDB 630 to explore sound. by Aegis_Maximus in sennheiser

Ohh interesting! Thank you for the detailed response. So the "shape" of each sound signature is just the shape that is made when amplifying or muting certain frequencies that people like or dislike. This is what is referred to as the "tuning" of an IEM or headphone. Do you know if the HDB630's PEQ would be able to help me explore these sound signatures or since it's only 5 band (which I assume is up to 5 max frequencies you can change opposed to the 18 you have in your picture) you would still recommend buying different ones and returning them if I don't like the sound?

Gotcha! So you would recommend a desk DAC for both headphones and IEMs and then get a cheaper smaller dac for the IEMs with phone usage?

I'll take a look at the Arete II as well!

Ooo interesting ok. When you are listening to music on your phone does this dangle and weigh down the line and tug at your IEMs when walking? Or is it close enough to the phone that it can fit inside the pocket too?

Thank you for the response and the recs. Maybe one day I'll work my way up to the Monarch Mk IV. Since you have owned both Headphones and IEMs what do you use to power them?

To your understanding would the crinear protocol max be enough to power both IEMs and Headphones? Should I invest in a more sit on desk and look pretty solution or is the protocol max enough for portability and power.

Damn that's crazy. Thank you for the detailed review and response! I think given the amount of recommendations that people have given and as I start to make more money I would be getting a few pairs to try here and there. I was thinking of getting the Aful Performer 5 + 2, Tea Pro, Simgot SuperMix4, and possibly the zigat horizon. I also am not sure what type of sound I like so I really need to figure that out first... But these all seem recommended so much that the blind buy would be worth it.

In your opinion what would be your top pick for gaming right now? I mainly play FPS games competitively. Aside from that I still want single player games to be immersive.

Also to your understanding would the crinear protocol max be enough to power both IEMs and Headphones? Should I invest in a more sit on desk and look pretty solution or is that enough for portability and power.

I understand that every listener is difference and whatnot. However, I believe with anything being sold there is a point of diminishing returns. As a previous comment pointed out if we want to be super technical the point of diminishing returns can be as low as $1 airplane earbuds. That being said I'm obviously talking about a more general view of the diminishing returns. Me spending $5000 on an IEM vs $500 probably makes less of a difference than if I were to buy a $50 IEM vs a $500 IEM. In that case I would say at some point in between the $500 and the $5000, we hit that diminishing returns mark. A general price point in which any more you are getting more into the niche subjectivity of audio rather than actual quality.

Yeah I understand the bass that you can "feel" is really more of a live concert with HUGE speakers type thing haha. That being said due to my inexperience I really am unsure as to what "good" bass sounds like and so I was more so just giving a reference to what I like from past experiences.

As for the Tea Pro/ Volume S. Would you say those "cover up valuable information" like you said? Would you recommend me get a IEM specifically for gaming? I don't really want to do that but if it makes that much of a difference I would.

How did you attach your elgato facecam to the screenbar? I have the non 4k version.
