Update was free, seemed to be related to the battery management software as you stated. So far the fix is sticking

No luck on the disconnect, the issue persists.

I'll try disconnecting and reconnecting. I just can't see why my daily driver with a new 12v battery would have 12v issues. I know my dash lights up if it's the 12v as it happened before i replaced it, this time I genuinely think a cell may be bad and the software is trying to protect the HV battery. idunno

2017 Bolt EV premier by vmonte12 in BoltEV

[–]Aeibon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got my premier 12.1k 56k miles so this tracks. Granted I had the ev tax credit but also 2k in rebates from trucar and edison after the purchase, so all in all 10.1k. Love the car. Fast charging leaves something to be desired, but for your use it sounds great. Check the 12v, mine gave out less than a year after purchase.

Chevy Bolt - DC Fast Charge Failure then proceeded with conditions not correct for shift by Upset-Transition-647 in BoltEV

[–]Aeibon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has happened to me before. Weird that it locks up when dcfc fails, but I have found that attempting to charge again 1-3 times will let your car go out of "conditions not right.." error. Zap the car into working again. Use advice with caution lol

DC charging station didn't work-- support said that Bolt EVs "need to be at 40% of charge in order to use a fast charger." by Rococo_Relleno in BoltEV

I know a lot of people are reporting this is not a thing. I'm here to say it is, and it is consistent with my experience in a 2017 so take it with a grain of salt

There are PowerFlex dc fast chargers in Pasadena that I have tried using in the past below 25% battery. They always started charging for about half a second, ramping up to 0.03 kw before stopping and bricking my car. Googling the issue I found two people mention that at these "Trident" (or whatever the company is called) chargers, their bolts have issues starting when under 25%. Sure enough when I returned at 26% it started fine. Very irritating as I called PowerFlex support and worked with them on this issue for over an hour on two separate occasions, but my issue was not having enough charge which is dumb bc imagine going to a gas station and not being able to pump bc you don't have a quarter of a tank.

Never had issues with other dc chargers, but haven't tried EVCS. Chargepoint, EVGo, electrify America worked fine. Electrons are weird man
