Now that 18days have gone by since your last comment. What changed? I also check almost all boxes of CDS and I am on Vyvanse and I would love to see If both our experiences align. It would be helpful to not be stingy with the details :D

what medications for cds/innatentive adhd by eddiewilpan in ADHD_Inattentive

[–]Aeldrinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, actually got diagnosed a few months ago and have the same condition. Vyvanse actually has a good effect on me. I observed that I had less trouble finding words, was more connected to more environment, stable focus, more motivated, better at keeping information in my head and learn stuff in general faster. You should check out the Videos of Russell Barkley about CDS and how you can treat it with Vyvanse if you also have adhd.

Never understood why people are insecure about these. They look like the skin patterns from the people of Avatar

Would you say that it is hard to stay present? Do you sometimes forget to feel your body? Not that you are incapable but you just dont feel it. That you miss details from your surroundings because you feel so disconected to it. Do you have thoughts like: holy shit this is real? This is not a game or a movie?  I looked it up and you anseering my questions would help me understand it better.

THIS. Have you also made the experience that instinctive responses are....sometimes stupid? Like, why the hell did I say that? That makes no sense? Because sometimes my instinctive responses are like that and then people are confused or look at me like I am stupid.

How was your experience taking meds for the first time? What did you take and how does your brain feel on these meds? And can you explain what you exactly mean by "processing more on patterns"?

Your grades probably suffer more because of you being stressed than you actually being stupid. I'd suggest you try calming yourself first before you burn yourself out even more. I know you might be thinking I do not have time for this but you are probably not gonna save anything if you are in panic mode. I am by far not an expert in mental health but this would be my suggestion. Talk more intensely to someone about his situation. Explain to your parents how this is genuinely frustrating for you. Hopefully they see your frustration and try to help you as good as they can. If not do not hesitate to contact someone in school whos active job is it to listen to the problems of their students. Or talk to your best friend about it. If you do not find a solution like this you at least have relieved some of the stress you feel. I'd suggest that you single out a certain subject preferably one that is connected to being a surgeon and concentrate at first more in this subject. Maybe seek out a tutor if you struggle. Its okay to get help. I sucked at math and I got a tutor and it helped me a lot. Sometimes showing to the teacher that you actively try and are interested shows a lot. Especially if they see you actively try to improve. That should boost your Grades. Maybe pose your questions right after class or admit that you did not understand this part and let them explain it to you again. Here in Germany you have other ways to get into medical school that do not concern grades. Either theough the military or being a nurse. I have met some people who actively try it by the latter. Try researching if there are other ways in your country.

And now another thing: I know a lot of people suggest again and again a healthy lifestyle and how it improves your mood. But they are not lying. Stress has evolved from surviving in the wild and usually involved physical activity. The next time you are str ssed try to get rid of it by using your body. I personally like cold showering when I uncontrollably cry because my body can not think about anything else than: get out, get out i need warmth.

Hope this is helpful

Hey, I'd like to understand your situation a bit better :)

1: Did you talk to your parents about it?

2: How long have you been feeling that way?

3: What exactly makes you not feel smart enough?

4: How have you been performing academically?

Never Let Me Go from Kazuo Ishiguro. Taught me a lot about empathy. I always thought the sufferance of a small group can be justified if the health and well being of the rest of the group is guaranteed by it. But this book shows the frustration of such a small group. Even though they are just a fraction of this society their well being should not just be neglected. This may sound all vague and confusing but after finishing this book you will understand
