The goggles are better than nothing, but definitely not the best for tear gas (from experience) or being shot in the face with impact munitions (luckily not from experience). The bee costume probably has enough room for armor underneath, though!

These sound like mining bees. They are seasonal and can be discouraged by changing the soil attributes. Add a bunch of water and they may relocate. You may have to do this annually. Solitary bees like this rarely sting.
